Terrible Customer Service and Management! I had an appointment to look at a vehicle at 9am on a Saturday morning. The night before I contacted the salesman right at closing to make sure that t I had an appointment to look at a vehicle at 9am on a Saturday morning. The night before I contacted the salesman right at closing to make sure that the vehicle was still for sale because I was traveling 2 hours away to look at the vehicle and didn’t want to travel the distance and arrive with the vehicle sold. The Salesman informed me that the vehicle was for sale and that everything was good to go. I then received a phone call from the secretary to make sure that I was going to make it to the appointment the next morning to which I said that I would be there. The next morning on my way to the dealer I received a call after I had travelled for two hours asking if I was on my way to the dealer. I replied that I was 10 minutes away and the salesmen then told me that they had sold the vehicle the night before. I then asked why they had failed to inform me about this to which his reply was that he had not worked that day so he didn’t know. After the salesman seemed very unapologetic, I told him that I was going to speak with his manager to which he replied, “You do that”. I went to the dealer and asked to speak with a manager. The manager was currently in a meeting so I waited and after 5 minutes all of the salesmen had a meeting together in an office. I continued to wait for 15 minutes to speak with the manager. After the salesman and managers had a meeting I asked someone else again to speak with a manager as they were avoiding speaking to me. Finally the manager came and spoke with me (He didn’t tell me his name). I politely told him my situation and my frustration with the fact that they did not let me know that they had sold the vehicle. The manager informed me that he didn’t know that I had an appointment to see the vehicle as his salesman just told him this morning that I had an appointment. I told him that it seemed like this was a communication issue and that it reflects poor customer service. He then began to walk away and told me “I don’t need to be told how to run my business!” As the manager was walking away he pointed and said, “There’s the door!” I simply wanted to hear “I’m Sorry, How can I earn your business?” and I got a “There’s the door”. I have NEVER experienced such poor customer service and Management! More
Harrassing and Mocking Customer Service I was looking to buy a Genesis Coupe that I had seen advertised at one price online, but when I got to the dealership, it had risen several thousand d I was looking to buy a Genesis Coupe that I had seen advertised at one price online, but when I got to the dealership, it had risen several thousand dollars. It took several people 10 minutes to find fine print basically saying that their prices online do not reflect for what they will actually sell it. I told them I stood corrected, at at no time during the negotiation was I disrespectful or take anything they said personally. Ben was about to run my credit without telling me, asking for my social before I stopped him. I even politely asked to speak with the manager regarding the price, of which none came over. The last straw was when I wanted to start at the price advertised online, he walked back to the manager and under his breath and trailing off, said, "It'll be a long drive back to where you came from." I immediately walked out. He continued to harass me and mock me by texting me "Enjoy your FRS." I drove over 30 miles to be harassed by Ben. I tried contacting the general manager, and only received one voice mail after several attempts to a phone number where didn't work. I reported them to Hyundai Corporate and BBB, asking for a written apology from their employees, which I have not seen yet. More

I would recommend anyone considering buying a Hyundai from Auffenberg shop elsewhere first and I bought 5 new Hyundai vehicles from Auffenberg over the past 14 years. The apparently have a new Sales Man from Auffenberg shop elsewhere first and I bought 5 new Hyundai vehicles from Auffenberg over the past 14 years. The apparently have a new Sales Manager who is the most rude individual I have dealt with in my life (I am 55 years old). After being told by one of the salesman that sticker price was the best price he could give me on a new Tucson, I shook hands with the salesman and told him I would take my business elsewhere. As I attempted to leave the showroom the Sales Manager approached me and yelled, "You walked in hear with an attitude, get off the premises!" Those were the first words he spoke to me and we had never previously met. When I asked him how he could say that without ever even speaking to me he threatened to call the police if I did not leave the dealership. If you enjoy Gestapo tactics and being threatened with jail, then by all means shop here, otherwise I highly recommend shopping for a Hyundai at another dealership. Following the unpleasant Auffenberg experience I returned home and made a deal on the phone with a St. Louis Hyundai dealer (Suntrup) for the vehicle I was looking for on the phone and without any of the unnecessary and immature theatrics experienced at Auffenberg. I attempted to call Matt Auffenberg to inform him of how I was treated because I do not believe the Auffenberg family or Hyundai USA want their customers treated rudely and unprofessionally. Unfortunately, although I was told Mr. Auffenberg would call me back, I have yet to hear from him. My experience has made this formerly loyal customer become simply a former customer...you will be treated much better elsewhere! More
I went in there for a new Hyundai and I left very happy. My sales man was very nice and knew his product very well. Didn't push me in to buying and was up front and honest. I dropped my coffee and had time to clean it up and didn't ruin my seats. Way to go Auffenberg Hyundai and Mr.Kevin Jones. Thank you so much. Enjoyed talking hockey with Mr.Jones while we waited to sign papers. Only place I will buy my car from here on out. Thanks again guys. Katie More
Seriously?!? We walked out on the deal because of hidden charges and horrible service. When we would ask, "How much is this car going to cost?" we were repeatedly answered with "How much do you want to sp charges and horrible service. When we would ask, "How much is this car going to cost?" we were repeatedly answered with "How much do you want to spend a month?" - how is that relevant, I had my homework with me, I know how much that car would and should cost, but I could not get a straight answer from the guy trying to sell me on that car??? After being at your dealership for three hours, we finally got an itemized list on the car and what do we see? Oh! a $400 charge for the clear coat and nitrogen in the tire?! Gimme a break... why wasn't that disclosed to us during our three hour ordeal... It was like exactly like the Trucoat scene in Fargo, except we walked out of the dealership. Also to top off the day, I felt low balled on my trade in - this was not surprising - but when I mentioned that a Suntrup had the same car I was interested in, I was barraged with how they are going to not honor the price and how I would have to jump through hoops with them too... well, not so much, not only did they honor the price, they gave me a better price on the car! They also waived all the factory add on's and gave me a higher price from my trade in. They went out of their way to make me a customer and I will be back. Overall experience - I cannot say one good thing bout my time at Auffenberg and do not recommend them to anyone. Go see Tony at Suntrup if you are looking for a nice new Hyundai. More
If I could give this dealership zero stars, I would. We had a new and inexperienced salesman, Dan Westlund. The fact that he was new did not bother me, I know he was learning the ropes. He had a difficult time with the negotiation and explaining where all these costs were coming from. After over an hour of negotiations, and getting nowhere, the sales manager came (I forgot his name) came over and rudely barked at us what he would offer us. He even at one point told Dan to "be quiet" when he tried to help explain. I couldn't believe how rude and disrespectful this manager was to not only a customer but also his own employee right in front of a customer! We were then told be three different employees that when we are sent a survey, we need to give our sale man "all 10s" on the 1 to 10 scale because it hurts the salesman and the dealership. I'm sorry, don't tell me how to take a survey. Lastly, we were told by Dan that the car we purchased had an autostart in the car that could be accessed via blue link. Recently we went to use this feature as the temps are dropping and found out that our model does not have an auto start. When I went back to Dan to tell him this, he told me I would have to pay to have it installed now!!! The autostart was one reason why we bought this car, we even specifically asked about it when we were on the lot choosing a vehicle. He admits that he did not know (because he is new) but is now unwilling to correct his mistake. I am trying to talk to someone else up higher on the chain, but I expect no help from the terrible sales manager that we had to talk to when we bought the car. I am so incredibly disappointed with my experience at this dealership, I will NEVER go to another Auffenberg dealer again!! More
My salesman Keith dalton is the best. He was referred to us by a friend and has done a fantastic job. We have now bought our 2nd new car in the last 6 mos. to me that's all that is needed to be said. I found a used 2011 Hyundai Tucson Limited on autotrader.com that they had listed for 19,995. On Friday August 16,2013 I got back on the site to get directions and look at the car again and noti autotrader.com that they had listed for 19,995. On Friday August 16,2013 I got back on the site to get directions and look at the car again and noticed that the price had dropped to 18,995 and it stated Reduced!. I was excited to see that and drove 50 minutes to their dealership. When I got there the care was no were to be found. I was told the car had been sold about two weeks ago. OK, I could maybe see that the car would be sold and not taken down promptly, two weeks seems like an excessive amout of time not to have take in down. But to mark the car as reduced when its not even on your lot anymore??? That seems very shady to me. The salesperson there I worked with was extremely nice, tried to be very helpful with the situation, and answered all my questions. He actually test drove another car with me I had a fair to high interest in but I almost feel like it bait and switch the reason I was there was to see another car that was long gone. I emailed the dealership I will be curious what I hear back. More
Stereo not working in brand new car. After taken in for service 1 week after purchased service dept did major damage to interior of car and they are trying to say they didn't do it.
