1st of all, I was denied a loan three times because I wouldn't give a larger downpayment. My credit was good, so I couldn't understand why I was being denied. None of the sales persons would communicate wouldn't give a larger downpayment. My credit was good, so I couldn't understand why I was being denied. None of the sales persons would communicate with me and be out right. They just wanted more money down. A new guy informed me that it was an old gap insurence issue . I owed them 95 bucks and had no idea I even had the darn bill. Then this guy tells me they see it as a 95 buck repo. Cool! I paid it. went back to get my car. I had 3 sales persons (New kid was there) tell me my current car was 14,500. which was the top of my budget but do able. As I was signing the contract noticed it said, 17,000. I thought, " I had three people tell me point blank this car was 14,500, so I guess the 17,000 was with interst," So I signed. A few weeks later I was checking my credit score and low and behold 21,000 is On my credit for my car. xxx ! They completely lied to me 3 times to my face! Since I already signed it I'm stuck with the price . I can't afford a lawyer or i would challenge this. Oh, and they gave my personal info (including SSN) to another customer ( by accident). They called me (customer) to inform me that they had my paperwork. I LOVE my car, I don't trust them. Buyers be ware. I orginally went to the new dealership in O'Fallon and they didn't even want to give me the time or day, kept passing me off like a hot potato. They all were rude except the last person I delt with (building closer to Target) The sales person directed me, kindly, to the bargon corner. When I trade in this car, I will be going to another dealership. More
Please share. . boycott auffenberg. I was told this place was shady but didn't listen to anyone and purchased a car here when mine was totaled. Within a month the . boycott auffenberg. I was told this place was shady but didn't listen to anyone and purchased a car here when mine was totaled. Within a month the check engine light went on. Those of you that don't have to do emissions may not think it's a big deal but when it could indicate a problem with the catalytic converter it becomes an expensive fix. I called multiple times with no response. Then it became clear the air conditioning only blew out to the temperature outside.. another huge issue that I called about and got no response. Then I was pulled over for illegal tint that could have gotten me a ticket or arrested but luckily she was kind and let give me a warning. I had to fight with the employees to get it taken off. My registration was sent to the wrong address so I was pulled over for expired tags when I didn't even know they were expired. The icing on the cake is when I went to the dealership and my salesman who is now a manager told me it was all my fault and the front desk person told me he was inappropriate for how he spoke to me. Then met with his manager and apparently they don't have to make sure the car is legal to drive and it's my fault for buying a car as is. Right now I'm looking at 3 to 5 thousand dollars of repair that I can't afford for a car that shouldn't have been sold in the first place... Facebook... do your thing and spread this because I'll be in their parking lot at every chance I get to make sure they never do this again More
I went in to purchase a 2019 Seirra 1500 Denali, at the Nissan dealership, that had been sitting on their lot for 97 days. While in the process of buying I told their salesperson, Max, that I want a pre pu Nissan dealership, that had been sitting on their lot for 97 days. While in the process of buying I told their salesperson, Max, that I want a pre purchase inspection. He had an attitude about it and stared at me as if I was doing something wrong. Max stated that they had the vehicle inspected inside of their dealership so I let him know that I'd require an independent inspection. After him visibly being annoyed with my request he asked his manager and I was approved to get it inspected. I got an independent inspection and the results were the rotors needed to be spun or replaced and that the tires were all dry rotted. This means that the tires could fail at any time and were unsafe to drive. I let Max know about it and he said there was nothing they would do about it. Auffenberg was perfectly fine with selling a customer a truck over $45,000 that was unfit to even be on the road. They do not care about their customers and it shows. Not only did they lose that sale they lost potential for any future sales. Disgusting excuse for customer service and total lack of caring for the safety of their customers. Clearly only looking for a sale. More
I won't go back. We were looking for a car over president's day weekend. Saturday afternoon we made the 45 minute drive to see one car in particular only to be told when we got there nobody could find the keys, so no test drive. We were told we could buy the car without driving it but that we couldn't put money down on it to hold it. (I guess that's an Illinois law) Monday morning we called and told them we wanted the car and asked how to proceed. Salesperson told us that was great and would contact us when the car had completed detailing. Phone call that afternoon letting us know the front seats would need replacing, and was it okay if we couldn't pick it up until the 25th? We told them that would be fine and mentioned the banks were closed anyway that day. Understanding the no-hold policy but not wanting to go out again for nothing, and not having been told there was any reason to think the car was anything but ours, my husband rearranged his entire work schedule to be able to purchase the car Tuesday. Got a text Monday night telling us the salesperson we'd been dealing with was no longer with the company. Called the GM as instructed to continue the sale, talked to him, everything was weird but fine. Got a text Tuesday morning informing us the car had sold Monday night. No phone call, nothing personal, no apology. I understand they can't hold cars, but even a phone call Monday night would have been appreciated. Poor, poor, poor customer service. We were even told with pride by one of the salespeople rationalizing their performance that "In Illinois one person's money is just as good as another's", which is a nice thought but makes little sense here except to reinforce the feeling they really only view you as a wallet. I would have liked to have responded "In Missouri we don't try to sell you a car without keys for a test drive." Meanwhile, we got a call an hour later from another dealership letting us know someone was interested in a car we'd looked at the same day, and wanting to know how serious we were in purchasing it before he told them it was available. Oh. Got an email a few days later from Mr. Auffenberg looking for feedback on our experience. I detailed plainly what had happened and gave suggestions for what could have made the experience better. Crickets. Who knows if they even read those, so here I am. More

I purchased a 2013 Ford Raptor and worked with Cody Schultz as my salesman and Shaun Stinnett in finance. Both were great. Treated me with respect and worked hard to get the sale done and to get me dr Schultz as my salesman and Shaun Stinnett in finance. Both were great. Treated me with respect and worked hard to get the sale done and to get me driving home in the truck the same night. I drive up to the dealership in my old car and decided I did not want to trade. Cody followed me home (a 15 minute drive) and then drive me back up to the dealership so that I could drive home in my raptor. Great car buying experience. A week prior I had a very poor experience next door looking at another raptor and this one could not have been more different More
Bought a car from here previously that I still have. Overpaid and overfinanced thru dealer. Noticed the price we agreed on was not the price on the loan paper which I immediately wrote the finance manag Overpaid and overfinanced thru dealer. Noticed the price we agreed on was not the price on the loan paper which I immediately wrote the finance manager with no response....shock (lesson learned). This time I decided to go and get my own financing so I would know the interest and payment ahead of time. Received the approval call on way to pick up current vehicle from service. Then the nightmare begins. I felt like I was being interrogated for not wanting to finance through the dealer which I strongly mentioned I didn't want to do when I came to look at the car. The salesman was training someone new and said he needed my SSN to match my application up with my approval which I repeated several times that I was driving when I got the call and all I needed was the document to take back to finish my loan. By the time we got to the finance manager, I felt like they were still trying to get information to run me through there system even after I mentioned I already had financing and didn't want to compare. After three hours and getting very irritated, I insisted all I needed was the document to finish my loan papers with my lender which took all of two minutes to print. They tried to pull that bull with me about "I can follow you home with the vehicle" after I said we weren't there to pick it up. I was so upset I couldn't sleep that night. They were trying to push their own agenda while disrespecting and ignoring my request....that was made several times. Then the car didn't meet my lender's spec and would have put me $5000 under water. Been there, done that. People became rude and uncooperative where even the lender was shocked. I decided the car was not worth it even after the statement was made "If I didn't pick it up by noon the next day, they would remove the hold and put it back on the lot." I was officially done!!!!! And my credit was ran again without my permission. It's a shame that their practices are coming across as sneaky, ruthless and untrustworthy. More
BEWARE of AUFFENBERG TACTICS. My Husband and I purchased a Kia Rio and the way they dealt with us by not showing us the paperwork with all the figures on it. Bruce and Yemi constantly running out of earshot a Kia Rio and the way they dealt with us by not showing us the paperwork with all the figures on it. Bruce and Yemi constantly running out of earshot to talk. Misleading us by telling us they can meet or beat our bank financing - NOT TRUE. Then putting add-ons costing nearly $5,000 without showing those actual costs, but instead showing how much the payment would be?? Will NEVER do business with them again. Too SHADY. Then they make sure - EVEN though I didn't have the trade-in car title or the additional Down Payment - They make sure we took the car home. That way the customer cannot do a thing, legally. Can't take the car back. Now when we look at the paperwork they put in the glovebox we find they lied to us and took advantage of us. The law is on their side and they know it. They just make sure they stack the cards against you. They did NOT even come close to the Banks financing and actually almost doubled the Interest Rate???!!! It's an expensive lesson to learn. You can't just trust that people will do right by you. Now they say I should do a Refinance with the bank? I already paid FEES for THEIR FINANCING. NEVER AGAIN> I won't be a repeat customer. Now I probably won't get decent service either even though I paid for Maintenance Plan, A Bumber to Bumper Warranty and Gap Insurance. Shame on you all. More
RUN AWAY FAST! I bought a car and within 3 weeks had problems that aren't covered unless I purchased the extended warranty. I understand things happen, but the problems with the car were a thermostat an problems that aren't covered unless I purchased the extended warranty. I understand things happen, but the problems with the car were a thermostat and computer upgrades that do not fall under any warranty and cost $950 to fix. There is no way theses issues just suddenly happened after me using the car a few hundred miles. After buying a car, spending $950 a month later was definitely not planned. I will never be doing business with these untrustworthy salesmen again. DO NOT TRUST THESE CARS! Only gave one star because I had to. I have NEVER had an issue like this at any other dealership. More
