If you’re considering buying an Audi—especially an AWD model—you may want to reconsider based on my experience. I took my 2022 Audi Q5 to the dealer at approximately 29,000 miles because it was exhibitin model—you may want to reconsider based on my experience. I took my 2022 Audi Q5 to the dealer at approximately 29,000 miles because it was exhibiting symptoms I now know are commonly referred to as “quattro bind.” The symptoms I described were addressed in an Audi Technical Service Bulletin (TSB), yet the dealer told me they couldn’t replicate the problem and had no idea what it could be. Whether that was ignorance or simply an unwillingness to pursue the issue, I’ll let you decide. I returned at approximately 48,000 miles with the same problem. This time, the dealer acknowledged the TSB—which had already been updated multiple times—but I was told Audi would not perform the repair because my tires were outside the acceptable tread-depth specifications. So, I bought another set of tires in order to get the TSB repair performed. The repair didn’t fix the problem. Now the vehicle is out of warranty, the same issue remains, and getting communication from Audi service management has become nearly impossible. My biggest concern is that I reported this problem while the vehicle was well within warranty, yet it was never properly resolved. Audi had multiple opportunities to address a known issue before my warranty expired. At this point, it feels like the service managers have entered the witness protection program—because getting anyone to actually address the history of this problem has been nearly impossible. If you’re considering an Audi, particularly a Quattro/AWD model, I would strongly recommend researching these drivetrain issues and Audi’s TSB history before buying. And I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND AGAINST AUDI RALEIGH AND AUDI CAPE FEAR!!! More
During my recent visit, I asked Thomas whether he could see the service notes from my previous visits to another Audi dealership. This was important because those earlier visits document the same drivetrai see the service notes from my previous visits to another Audi dealership. This was important because those earlier visits document the same drivetrain problem I am now trying to get resolved. Thomas told me that he could not see notes from other Audi dealerships. When I questioned that, his explanation changed. He then told me he could only see another Audi dealer’s records if the work had been performed under warranty. What happened next was particularly troubling. Another Audi Raleigh employee working next to him stepped into the conversation and corrected him, explaining that what Thomas was telling me was not accurate and that they could, in fact, access information from the other Audi dealership. So I was first given one explanation, then a different explanation when I challenged it, and finally another Audi employee had to correct the information I was being given. Whether Thomas was deliberately trying to prevent me from pursuing the prior service history or simply did not want to look into it, I can’t know. What I do know is that the information he gave me was incorrect, his explanation changed when challenged, and his own coworker corrected him in front of me. That is especially concerning because my entire dispute involves a problem that was documented by another Audi dealer while my vehicle was still under factory warranty. I expect a service advisor to help investigate that history—not give me inaccurate information about whether the dealership can even access it. This interaction seriously damaged my confidence in Audi Raleigh’s service department. More
Very disappointing experience with Audi Raleigh’s service department. I purchased my 2022 Q5 from Audi Raleigh and recently brought it back for a drivetrain problem that was first reported to an Audi deal department. I purchased my 2022 Q5 from Audi Raleigh and recently brought it back for a drivetrain problem that was first reported to an Audi dealer at 29,736 miles while the vehicle was under factory warranty. Audi also attempted to repair the same problem at approximately 48,700 miles, still under warranty, but the repair did not fix it. Audi Raleigh has now diagnosed the condition as “quattro bind” and advised that I could be facing nearly $5,000 in repairs if the recommended procedure does not work. I picked up my vehicle on August 29 and have repeatedly asked to speak with management about having Audi review the warranty history. As of September 10, I have received zero communication from a service manager—only text messages telling me that a manager would contact me. No one has. For a dealership selling and servicing premium vehicles, I expected much better communication and customer support. I’m extremely disappointed that I’ve had to escalate this beyond the dealership simply to get someone to address a documented problem that began while the vehicle was under warranty. I will update this review if Audi Raleigh responds and makes a meaningful effort to resolve the issue. More
These guys must be writing their own reviews! I have a 2022 Q5 that needs service and the earliest diagnostic appointment is over a month out. I was told I could drop it off and leave it and I have a 2022 Q5 that needs service and the earliest diagnostic appointment is over a month out. I was told I could drop it off and leave it and they may be able to work it in over a 3-4 day period, BUT they couldn't provide a loaner car. How the xxxx am I supposed to get around! And what if whatever the issue is gets worse while waiting for a diagnostic appointment.....then what?! More
