Audi Mendham

I went to Audi of Mendham to look at a pre-owned S8 for $53500. After calling the dealership twice over the past week and talking prices (which included a ridiculously low trade-in for my Range Rover) I sa $53500. After calling the dealership twice over the past week and talking prices (which included a ridiculously low trade-in for my Range Rover) I said I'd think it over and get back to them. A few days later, the sales person called me and said "we have the car on hold for you, when are you coming to pick it up?". Having never indicated my intention to purchase it without seeing the car I was taken aback by the inherent pressure. I decided to go see the car because I was told that it was an Audi certified product with no accidents and a clean carfax. After driving the car I felt that it was not really what I needed for my every day car (even though the Audi is a great product) but the V10 made me want to run the Carfax anyway to see if it was good. Turns out the car was in an accident at one point in its life and it was not certified. As I drove over an hour to see the car and waited for 40 minutes in the dealership to talk to my sales person (who didn't accompany me on the test-drive) I was very disappointed and feel that this was one of the worst car-buying experiences I've ever had. Needless to say, I'll be keeping my Rover...at least I know where it's been! More
