BUYER BEWARE OF DECEPTIVE PRACTICES I flew in to Audi Hilton Head from St. Louis, MO to buy a specific used car. All prices and negotiation was agreed to before I hopped on the plane to I flew in to Audi Hilton Head from St. Louis, MO to buy a specific used car. All prices and negotiation was agreed to before I hopped on the plane to buy the car, I had the check from my bank in my pocket while traveling so this was a "done deal." The initial salesman William Duke was great and responsive. I was picked up by the dealership from the airport which was a nice touch. When I got to the dealership they were apparently very short on staff as after I took the car for a test drive it took approximately 20 minutes to get anyone to be able to sit down with me. The car was described over the phone in perfect condition with 1 cosmetic issue on the front bumper which a picture was sent and described to me which I was okay with. When I arrived the car had additional scratches on the top of the car as well as a door ding that were never described to me. My salesman Sam Rojas was great in trying to get someone to discuss the issue with me but again, due to a short staff it took approximately 45 minutes of me waiting around to discuss this. Khurram Khan the Executive General Manager finally came to meet with me and agreed that the car was in fact not as described. Being that I was from out of town he offered to pay for my hotel for Saturday and Sunday evening and to have the car fixed on Monday and I would be on the way. Unfortunately, due to the fact that I live out of town, still have a job and responsibilities I could not stay the weekend and have the issue fixed. He then agreed to pay for my hotel for the Saturday evening for the troubles and that if I had the car taken to an Audi Collision Center here in St. Louis that I should send the estimate to him and he would have it taken care of. He estimated the damages based on his "expertise" to be approximately $500-$600. After everything was agreed to, I was ecstatic to be on the way with my new car. I signed all appropriate paperwork and left the dealership with a full tank of gas and a smile. This is where the happy story ends. After coming back to St. Louis Turnice Alexander the Finance Manager sent me an email that I needed to get a safety and emissions inspection done, which is fully reasonable so I had the work done and faxed them the inspection. 1 week elapsed and then I received another email from Taneeka Holman who is a Tag and Title Clerk, that I needed to send a copy of my personal property tax receipt to them, I faxed this to them within 1 day. I have had the car since February 14th and I still don't have license plates. No one will respond back to me from the dealership with a timeframe on when I will receive the plates. I finally I had the car inspected and the estimated damages were $1,400. I sent the estimate to Sam Rojas who promptly responded and let me know he would send the info to Khurram Khan for further review. The following are exact copies of the exchanged emails (X's are to ensure privacy): Mr. XXXXXXX Just spoke with him. He said if you want to bring the car back down here we can fix it for a lot cheaper. Around 300-400 dollars through our Audi Body shop. Other wise he can issue you a check for 400.00 and resolve it that way. Mr. Khan would have rather done the repair down here before you left. Let me know which way you decide to go and I will pass it on to management. Thanks XXXXX! Sam Rojas My response to that email was as follows: Sam, I appreciate the offer. If he wants to pay for my gas there and back as well as my hotel and lost wages I'll be more than happy to drive it back down and have it fixed, however I can assure you the value of the above is far greater than the estimate for the car. Before I left your lot, Khan said it would be taken care of as long as I got an estimate for the damage at an authorized Audi collision shop. He estimated the damages to be approximately $500-600 at that time however as someone who doesn't work in the body shop, I wouldn't expect him to know the exact costs. He also said he would be willing to pay for my hotel for both Saturday and Sunday evening if I stayed to get the car fixed on Monday when I was there, at approx $100 per night for a hotel room, the total is now up to approx $700-800 that he verbally offered at the time of the purchase. I took the car to the only authorized Audi collision center here in St. Louis and that is the estimate they gave me. If his body shop can do it for $500 please have his body shop call the collision center here and tell them how to do it for the $500. Let me know how to proceed. Also, I have yet to receive a response for anyone at your dealership on when I can expect the license plates to arrive. I apologize in any inconvenience I caused with the extra paperwork needed, everything has been sent and faxed but I've asked 2 people when to expect the plates and never heard anything back after that. Would you please look into that and let me know as my temporary tags will expire in 3 days Thank you Sam, I truly appreciate your help. It states that we are willing to fix here and can for $400.00 dollars. Sam Rojas Basically - in the You Owe/We Owe document, they wrote in the maximum they would pay for the repairs would be $400, which was significantly less than what was agreed to and also significantly less than the estimated damages. I signed off on this document even though it was not fully explained to me which is by now a written contract. By this time, Sam actually CC'd Khurram Khan on this email so I took the liberty to email him directly to which as of 7:52pm on March 18th, I have yet to receive a response: Sent March 12th at 12:30pm Khan, If this is honestly the way you'd like to treat your customers then I will make sure that as long as your dealership is in business, other potential clients hear about my experience and the unfortunate way you do business. I am extremely disappointed after the wonderful experience I had while I was there and your goal of having 0 dissatisfied customers has no longer been achieved. I took you at your word that you would help me receive the car in the condition that it was described to me and that was apparently my fault for trusting your word. Even after telling me that and shaking hands that you would pay for my hotel for 2 nights and that repairs would cost approximately $500-$600 based on your estimation, you put $400 on the "We Owe" document which you know is a written contract. Very clever of you for your deceptive practices. Please send me a check for the full amount. I will also fax or email you a copy of my receipt for my hotel room from when I stayed the night which I will also expect a reimbursement unless that has also slipped your mind. Also, I have yet to receive a response from Khurram Khan, Taneeka Holman who was helping assist with the license plates, Turnice Alexander the Finance Manager or Sam Rojas if I am to receive any sort of payment from the dealership. Their website specifically states "Our goal is to have 0 dissatisfied customers." Well, that goal has not been achieved. Please beware of this shady dealership and it's shady practices. More

They couldn't even find the spare keys to the vehicle. I was told that the would find and mail them to me. I called back a couple of days later no keys. This time I am told it is not there fault that I wasn't given keys. I then was told if the salesmen didn't write it on paperwork it was my problem. This particular dealership does not live up to its word. More

Sam Rojas a Out of the 4 audi dealerships that I have purchased or received vehicle services from, Audi Hilton Head has by far exceeded the standard. Sam Rojas assisted me in my latest purchase and the experience in customer service was exceptional!. He was knowledgable in all the vehicles that we were looking at and in the end answered all the questions and provided the services we needed to ensure that we were purchasing the vehicle for us. What is also comforting to know is that, as opposed to other dealerships, this is not just a one time purchase but a long term commitment to service. Well in mine experience i succeeded in finding the best dealership that i will always go due to the Customer Service and the great experience i have had. That Dealership is the Audi of Hilton Head or Bluffton, SC. I have Leased 3 Audi's from A4 to A7 and purchased one VW Jetta. Every single time i go there for service or for buying a car i am treated with respect and dignity. The sales representative are very knowledgeable of their product and stock availability. They are not just there to make a sale, they actually care to help you buy a car. I will never go to another dealer due to the way i was treated and i don't think anyone could out due them. The Service Center is outstanding on top of everything get you in and out. The facility is awesome and well designed. David Eccles was my sales person and a very good friend of mine i have a lot of respect for him in selling 2 out of 4 cars i purchased from his dealership. Overall from sales, financing, service and service tech the Audi of Hilton Head, SC is the best and one of kind. More

He will schedule services for me if it is getting close and was never no pressure when buying. I like him because he is straight with you and that is respectful as a car salesman. Hats off to David. As for service, it's perfect. Always no wait and always has my loaner ready. I usually am not happy when they call me to tell me my car is ready.... Because I want to keep the loaner. :-) More

Long hot walk, heading nowhere! We were shopping for a new Audi. Took the drive to the closest dealer. When we arrived, we were greeted in the middle of the parking lot and told that We were shopping for a new Audi. Took the drive to the closest dealer. When we arrived, we were greeted in the middle of the parking lot and told that the "Audi Guru", would be assisting us. Along comes a young fellow about 25 years old and walks us to the end of the earth to see the Audi's. He then needs to turn around and go find keys for a car to test drive. One that we stated we were not even interested in. We drive it just to confirm our interest, and they were. We then walk into the dealership and sit, then wait. The young misguided salesman proceeds to have the general manager tell us why we need to buy from him, the price is on the window sticker and there is very little margin for profit! Really? I understand they need to make a profit, but not all of it on me and on a vehicle we did not even want in the first place. Prior to leaving we are assured we need to do business with this dealership, their customer base is large group of wealthy people, cash type customers that buy on a whim. Enough in that one statement to make us run not walk away! Because we wanted an Audi, we went online and "built" the one we desired. Sent it to them and were told one was found, pay $1000.00 to have it delivered to the dealership and we could move forward. We are thinking no problem. Well, not exactly. We ask to run our credit and to verify our interest rate.Well, that could not be done! No reason. No problem, no worries, no concerns. We went and bought a Mercedes ML-350. Got a follow up call from Sonny, saying he had the car we liked delivered just on our good name. We informed him of our purchase, we quickly informed us "we were not Audi customers". All I can advise is STAY AWAY. No sour grapes, just don't waste your time! More
Buyer beware. These folks are shady, deceptive, and greedy to say the least. Good used car prices but terrible at trade ins. I agreed to a deal, my fault, after being told that my trade in was going to be sent to auction I found out that the dealer was selling it for more than twice what they gave me in trade. I called to complain of their business practices and received a gauntlet of ridiculous explanations in an attempt to justify their greed and deceit from several different associates claiming to be managers. All with different stories, all lies that I caught them in only for them to change explanations pulling from a different palate of bull. The general manager whom I dealt with on the sale never talked to me on the phone about my displeasure and never called me back when I left him messages to do so. These people are stereotypical crooked car dealers in a dressed up environment. I will never shop in or around this clubhouse of criminals again More
