On July 14, 2026, a follow-up visit identified a head gasket oil leak that should have been caught during the original inspection. When asked if the vehicle was safe for an upcoming out-of-state trip, I gasket oil leak that should have been caught during the original inspection. When asked if the vehicle was safe for an upcoming out-of-state trip, I was told it should be fine. Only a visual and dye test were performed; no cooling system pressure test or compression/leak-down test was done. The head gasket repair is covered under GM’s Powertrain Warranty at no cost. The lug nut failure was acknowledged by the service manager, who outlined some internal corrective steps. Given the safety failure on the first visit and the missed diagnosis, I recommend other customers independently verify any safety-critical work performed here. More
I brought my car to Applegate Chevrolet because the check engine light had come on. Shortly after dropping it off, the service advisor called and explained that the issue was a faulty EVAP purge valve (purge engine light had come on. Shortly after dropping it off, the service advisor called and explained that the issue was a faulty EVAP purge valve (purge pump). I was quoted approximately $103 for the part plus four hours of labor. Trusting their expertise, I authorized the repair. Afterward, I became curious about the labor time because four hours seemed unusually high for this type of repair. I did some research and found that the part is located on the top front of the engine and is readily accessible. Based on what I found, replacing it appears to be a relatively straightforward job that many mechanically inclined people could complete in well under an hour. When I picked up my vehicle, I respectfully raised my concerns with the service manager. He listened, acknowledged my concern, and said he would look into the labor charge and get back to me. Unfortunately, I never received a follow-up. I then contacted Chevrolet Customer Care, who opened a case and attempted to contact the dealership on my behalf. According to Customer Care, they also never received a response from Applegate Chevrolet. My biggest disappointment isn't just the labor charge itself—it's the complete lack of follow-up and communication after I raised what I believe was a reasonable concern. If there was a legitimate reason for charging four hours of labor, I would have appreciated a clear explanation. Instead, my concerns were simply ignored. Based on this experience, I can't recommend Applegate Chevrolet's service department. Customers deserve transparent pricing, honest communication, and the courtesy of a response when they have questions about their bill. More

From selecting options to giving me suggestions he never lost his patience. I flew in and they sent a car to pick me up! Full tank of gas and on my way in less than 30 minutes! Everyone there was fantastic, made me feel like their #1 customer. From the receptionist, finance, the GM and Curt, I was treated like royalty! I highly recommend Curt and the Applegate team. I bought a new 2012 Impala in December of 2011 which had no floor mats. All I get is promises and no mats. Once they get your money, they no longer care. Cars are selling good now so I guess they don't n no floor mats. All I get is promises and no mats. Once they get your money, they no longer care. Cars are selling good now so I guess they don't need return customers, which I was. But no more I'll go to Joe Blows car lot before I return to these careless people. So take some advice and go anywhere else to buy a vehicle or for service. These folks just want your money, not return business. More
