I was completely ripped off by the service department. Without even notifying me, they charged me $165 to read the error code on my car. Any auto parts, or shop in the area would have completed it for fre More

Mr. Hillman, Your statements are inaccurate and your threats of intent to ruin Champion's reputation are unfortunate. We have the doccumentation that you have personally signed authorizing the diagnosis at the price you were charged. The phone number that you provided cannot be called from Champion's business line, only via a cell phone. There were 3 messages left for you on the other three phone numbers that we did have on file. So far as your statement regarding Champion holding your vehicle over the weekend...again, not true. I personally called you from my home on Saturday and went over the issues that we found your vehicle to be having. I offered to provide your vehicle that day if you so chose. You responded by saying that you would speak to your wife over the weekend and would come in on Monday to decide on wether or not to repair your vehicle. At that point, I even offered you a rental car if you chose to make the repairs. It is my hope that this does not become a legal matter of you falsely slandering Champion. As you can see, I am communicating with you in a private fasion in hopes to bring closure to this situation. I sincerely hope you reconsider the slanderous comments that you have posted on dealer rater and remove them. I welcome you to call me personally if you would like. I can be reached at 317-872-6200 ext. 2009.

My phone can be called by any means at any time, period. I use this line to stay in contact with my customers, and can be reached on it 24/7/365. Everything else is an excuse. You didn't offer to rent a vehicle for me, you offered to get me in touch with a rental agent. Thanks, but no thanks. Any reasonable person would find that being charged $99 to read the error code on a the computer is outrageous. I can read it from my phone for free. I can take it into any reputable auto shop, and have it read for free. Charging me $50 to tell me I needed a new serpentine belt, when I arrived only asked if the belt was fine, also no reasonable person would find acceptable. Both tasks took your techs less than 10 minutes, and you have the audacity to say that warrants $165 worth of your time? I signed the waiver every time I drove my car onto the pavement to get my oil changed. I didn't consent to any charges then, nor would I ever without understanding what service is being provided for my compensation. Do I need to read the walls, floor, and/or quiz the customer service rep for any hidden notations every time? Should I expect a drivers handling fee, a wipe the dip stick fee, or a administrative paperwork fee for swiping my card? Again, any reasonable person would agree this is unacceptable. The form I signed did not indicate the dollar amount I would be charged for the service, nor did the CSR even bother to say there was a fee for them to do so. After having two other auto shops look at my car without any review of your findings, not only did they come to different conclusions, they also didn't charge a dime for reviewing my car. Not only did they review the car for free, but laughed at the idea that someone would charge to do so. The fact they didn't come to the same conclusions, and what issues they did uncover could be repaired at a greatly reduced cost, makes me think this type of behavior is typical. And systemic fraudulent behavior is a matter best left to the attorney general of Indiana. There isn't anything to talk about, unless your policies toward the people in your community change. So you can stop with the ideal threats of legal recourse or take some action. The public will love to hear all of my complaints, plus I'm sure more will come to the surface.
