Mr. Falcon -- our conversation yesterday ended pretty much in a stalemate. The conclusion for both of us will remain unsatisfactory since we cannot determine the absolute truth. I CAN tell you what the conversation with your service manager felt like, both at the time of my visit to Champion and during yesterday's conversation. At the time of the visit, I felt that he saw me coming and did try to take advantage of my being female and of my being an out-of-towner in a rush. Yesterday, his comment about doing me such a favor by working me in on that day must have occurred to him after my complaint was lodged because he certainly made no such remarks at the time and after my initial refusal to buy a $4,000 engine did little other than to take three times the promised diagnosis time AND leave me to hunt down someone to give me the diagnosis when it was finally finished. His remark about my car no doubt having an engine problem to come feels like sour grapes -- that he has had to account for his earlier actions and resents having to do so. I believe you to be honest in your intent, but I certainly have my doubts about your service manager and urge you to keep an eye and let him know that you are. I very much doubt that I am the first person he has treated this way.

Dear Mr. Falcon -- Just an FYI -- my car now has another 7,000 miles on it and is running quite well -- further evidence that your service manager was not doing his job as he should have been.

Dear Mr. Falcon -- another FYI -- my car is STILL running quite well -- now has 110,000 miles on it, in spite of your service manager's dire prediction. Again, your service manager was NOT doing his job as he should have been.
