My experience with this dealership has been phenomenal. Amos is a personable guy, passionate about the Early Birds, and well deserving of his stellar reputation. My assessment of this dealership, and this Amos is a personable guy, passionate about the Early Birds, and well deserving of his stellar reputation. My assessment of this dealership, and this review is pretty much a carbon copy of the other reviews posted here. The organization Amos has built over many years is the best in the business, as far as I can tell, and it will be easy to see why, if you contact him. He is likely to answer the phone himself, and then spend 30 minutes with you answering all of your questions, no matter how ignorant or repetetive they are. He is totally free with information that would take years for the average person to uncover on his own. You would think he might be protective of "trade secrets", but he is smarter than that. He knows that a informed prospect is likely to become a wise buyer and a satisfied customer. I'm sure he has many repeat customers for this very reason, not to mention the fact that the product of he and his craftsmen's efforts is consistently of superior quality. This is not just I saying this, his peers, exuberant customers and his collector car auction results testify also. It was a fine experience for me to visit the dealership, observe the staff at work and look closely at many of the fine Thunderbirds they have for sale. I never heard: "no we can't look at that" or: "don't get too close to that one". More likely was: "climb in there and see how it feels". Wow, just an amazing priviledge with these beautiful cars and the group of talented people dedicated to preserving them for the rest of us to enjoy. This is kid in the candy store stuff. Anyone considering adopting a 1955, '56 or '57 Thunderbird would be wise and well served for having contacted Amos Minter Thunderbirds early in the process. For years I have carried a little reminder card in my wallet bearing this simple sentence: "The best always costs less". Enough said. Tom R. More
Dealing with Amos Minter was a pleasure. Amos is generous with his time and loves his life work. I purchased a used convertible soft top, which was in good general condition, for my 1955 T-Bird,. He spent quality time with me showing it and explaining how to install it since I did not have my car with me at the time. He considers himself the caretaker of many early T-Birds and loves to show them off even when one is not in the market. He is a noted expert with these cars, having spent a great portion of his career collecting, showing and restoring them. One leaves his shop thinking "I have a new best friend"! More

Amos is generous with his time and answered my hundreds of questions with professionalism and good humnor. You must see his shop, how clean and well appointed it is to appeeciate all of the quality work that goes into his restorations. You should meet all of the people who work on the cars. They are all great. I bought a red '57T-bird and had it delivered to my home by the men who built the car. While there they went over everything about the car with my wife and I in our garage and in our home. After delivery I had questions and a couple of issues which Amos is cheerfully resolving for me. He truly stands behind his work. My wife and I are very happy with the"new" T -bird. More
Amos Minter and his family are absolutely terrific. I bought a 1956 Thunderbird for my wife, which was modified to my specifications...and Amos and his team more than exceeded my expectations. The detai bought a 1956 Thunderbird for my wife, which was modified to my specifications...and Amos and his team more than exceeded my expectations. The detail of the work and the level of customer support (including deep and detailed explanations) of what to expect with a 54 year old car with a ground up restoration has been spot on. Beside all this, Amos is true gentlemen and a passionate expert doing this type of work with Thunderbirds for over 40 years. I will certainly buy another car from when I get the opportunity! More
The summer of '05 my husband purchased my '56 Sage Green T-Bird for my birthday. I have a 54 year old car that runs like a top and puts new cars on the road today to shame. Talk about a driving machine, i T-Bird for my birthday. I have a 54 year old car that runs like a top and puts new cars on the road today to shame. Talk about a driving machine, it's awesome. Looks beautiful on the outside and at car shows sells itself under the hood everytime. Usually once a year I call Amos for a yearly checkup. He offers any day of the week, or weekend for me to bring it to the shop. Prices on repairs are better than today with a new car. Overall, Amos has a great shop, employees, prices, and above all service. Work is done within the day. More

I spoke with Amos Minter and after hearing my story he suggested a top for my car. When the top arrived it was exactly as described and fit like a glove. I sold that car and purchased a 56 T-Bird (not from Minters) and eventually had engine problems. Amos again helped me solve my problems selling me a completely restored part for my car. I sincerely doubt that Amos made enough off of my to pay his electric bill, but he took the time to help me. I have referred several people to the Minters ,and they have purchased automobiles from them and have been very happy with their cars. Next one I buy will be from Amos as I am sure I will be taken care of very well. DocBaily. More
Amos Minter is a class act. Last September I was debating on replacing the soft top on my 56 Tbird which I have owned for 40 years. I had already done some research on my own but I wanted to contac debating on replacing the soft top on my 56 Tbird which I have owned for 40 years. I had already done some research on my own but I wanted to contact some one who would be able to give me some professional advice. Like most thunderbird entusiasts I had heard of Amos Minter and on the spur of the moment I placed a call to his shop in Texas never expecting to speak with him directly. Too my surprise it was Amos who took my call. I felt somewhat embarrased in taking up his time as there was no service money in it for him as I live in Canada and we all know time is money. I quickly made Amos aware of the fact it was only advice I was seeking fully expecting he would dust me off as quickly as possible. To my great surprise Amos did the opposite. We must have spent 20 minutes on the phone discussing my car and never did I get the sense he was trying to rush me. I ended up changing it from a white top to a black top based on his recommendation and I am very happy with the result. In Feb. this year I thought about getting a set of wire wheels for my car just to dress it up. But from whom? Once again I took a chance and called Amos's shop but this time his wife answered the call. I introduced myself as a Canadian who had spoken to Amos last September and once again was looking for some advice. As it turned out Amos was out on a service call but lucky for me his wife was more then willing to provide me with advice just like Amos. Like my call with Amos, never did I get the sense she trying to end my call. In fact like Amos she developed our conversation beyond its original scope. Well fast forward to today July 8th. Wheels have arrived and now which tires to put on them as there are several to choose from. My decision process has become easier for me - if its good enough for Amos Minter then its good enough for me. I just got off the phone with Amos (after probably 15 minutes) and all I can say is I wish he had his business here in Ontario but because he would certainly have mine. More
I met with Mr. Amos Minter in January 2008. He restores 1955-56-57 Thunderbirds. My meeting with him was very educational, very professional and extremely courteous. Mr. Minter took as much time as I wante 1955-56-57 Thunderbirds. My meeting with him was very educational, very professional and extremely courteous. Mr. Minter took as much time as I wanted inquiring about the cars he had for sale. He is extremely knowledgeable and explained the differences in cars and pricing. The quality of his work is well documented thru Barrett Jackson auctions and the announcers from these auctions who are also well versed in collectable cars. As a result of my several visits with Mr. Minter, I ended up purchasing a 1957 Thunderbird from him. After I had the car, whenever I had a question, he was always available to answer those questions and to assist in any way possible. If anyone was looking for a collectable Thunderbird, I would highly recommend a visit and meeting with Mr. Minter. A wonderful experience. More
