Then I received a letter in the mail that Capital One would finance me. I needed a car because my transmission was going out, but they denied me. American Honda said they'd finance me and now I have a beautiful 2018 Honda HR-V. I love it!!! I am truly please with Honda of Abilene for helping me and giving me a chance when no one else would.Carl took care of me the whole way through the car buying process. Mike gave us some very helpful financial advice. If I ever need anything I know just the place to call. More

Used vehicle purchased with problems So my daughter decided to take her car swimming in the last heavy rain, we needed a car and fast. The next day (Saturday) we stopped into several majo So my daughter decided to take her car swimming in the last heavy rain, we needed a car and fast. The next day (Saturday) we stopped into several major car lots including Honda of Abilene. We found a car we liked and took it for a very short test drive due to the pouring rain. I signed the paperwork expecting a car that had been inspected properly. On the second day the sun came out and we took the new car for a spin only to find it had a vibration at 70 mph that was very obvious. I took the car back home and jacked it up to inspect the underneath. I found the axle seal was also leaking (not much but obviously leaking). I went to check the oil level with the transmission dipstick and found it was zip tied closed. There's a red flag.... I drove it again and convinced my self the transmission was not acting right- at 70 mph the engine was turing 3400 rpms. We took it back to honda and they provided me a loaner while it was checked out. I also showed the service writer photos of the dipstick and the axle seal leaking. 2 days later they called and said it was ready, my daughter went back up there to pick up the car and they told her a tire had to be ordered, the vibration was from a broke band inside the tire. Ok that's fine too but another lady who I didn't catch her name told my daughter the loaner vehicle she was driving was not in her name. In other words she was not supposed to be driving it. My daughter calls and tells me she needs a ride back to work because they would not let her leave in the loaner. Heres my problem with that, when I picked up the loaner I provided a drivers license from my daughter because it was essentially her car. I finally got ahold of my salesman Walter and he was able to get things situated for us. She was allowed to take the loaner once again. Why somebody else had to get involved I don't know. My daughter is a co-signer on the note, and the insurance is also in her name. Now its Friday 5 days after taking it in and I decided to call and check on things. The service writer tells me the leak is not enough to warrant a repair, her words were "its just a sheen". Now Ive been working on cars at the same company for 21 years, I know on the first road trip when that oil is actually at operating temperature its going to leak like crazy. Their 7 min test drive will not show the same results. Maybe this is a one time thing, either way I probably wont be coming back for another car. We were able to pick up the car "leaking seal and all" on Monday of the following week, I asked why it took a week to get a tire and was met with" its a unique size...… " That's xx too by the way- 2013 Nissan rouge. Nothing unique about that 225/70/16 tire in stock at local discount tire. No complaints on my salesman Walter, but the service side needs some help. I will continue to watch the seal for a faster leak but its one more thing to worry about. As for the zip tied dipstick who knows why, I was told the previous owner must have done it, sure makes me think the dealerships 172 point inspection was forgotten on this car. I did purchase a 1 year warranty so maybe the transmission will be ok. If I had to do it again I would have drove it more before signing on the dotted line. Do your own inspection, don't rely on others to do it properly. And PS as a mechanic, I do not want to talk to someone whos never turned a wrench, about my problems with the car. Its pointless...Why dealerships think a friendly smile is all you need to interact with customers on their cars is beyond me. Hire a good secretary and pay the older technicians a good wage to take over the service writer positions, at least they know the vehicles. More
Great fast, service I had an appointment scheduled but needed to drop my car off earlier than my appointment. When I came back to pick up my car they went over the results, but never tried to make me get something that I didn't need. A+ experience. More
