That gave All done with Alden, Over the years I have bought 3 vehicles from Alden GMC. Up until recent I have been lucky and never had “an issue”. That gave me the false sense that if there was “an issue” they would take care of me. Well, I was wrong. Before we begin, I know most negative reviews are because someone didn’t get their way. This isn’t about the $700 that Alden managed to squeeze out of me. It is about the lack of customer service. Car dealers in general have a long history of deceptive tactics, so it is kind of expected to be hit with some type of erroneous fee. 17 days into an issue I went to finally pick up a loaner and speak with the service manager Loring. It is as if I was a burden in his day. Immediately he was dismissive, condescending, and rude. As I started to voice my concerns his words were “how is this my problem?” vs how can we work together to make it right. The magnitude of his dismissiveness even prompted me to call him out on his smugness. On April 16th I dropped my vehicle off to diagnose a transmission issue. Later in the day I called, and they said it “needs a new transmission” and are waiting on the warranty company to approve it. I stopped by early the following week to remove some stuff from vehicle- Asked how long once work was approved- was told it “would be quick since they are putting in a new one” called several more times over the next 13 days to see if there was any update- several times was told still waiting for approval on the “new transmission”. On April 30th Karen called me and said the warranty company approved the “used transmission and should be ready Monday or Tuesday”. In full disclosure-The vehicle does have 105k on it- a “new” one was surprising to hear during the several other phone calls so when she called on Friday and said “used” was approved- I figured, yea new seemed too good to be true (but never thought they would use a salvage part). On Monday May 3rd I received a voicemail saying the used one failed and they had to get another one. I called back and spoke with Karen who said the used one essentially came from a junk yard (Goyetts), and they are waiting on a 2nd one and would be another week or so. I expressed my concern over a junkyard part being put in on something that is under warranty and think it should have been new or at least a certified part. (The dealership even ordered a rebuilt one while they were waiting on the warranty co.) In about 20 mins time Karen was able to get a cost of aprox $700 (my expense) if I wanted a rebuilt transmission. I had never heard of a dealer putting junkyard parts in a vehicle especially without notifying the owner… It feels like this was just a case of fix it quickly and cheaply, so the problem goes away. (The extended Portfolio warranty they sell you for $2k evidently allows them to put, what I consider subpar untested junkyard parts.) Even on an oil change the customer is presented options…. At the end of the day, I agreed to pay the $700 and put the certified rebuilt. In the short run Loring is right- it is not his problem. However his lack of empathy and concern, cost them a customer. If I could leave 0 Stars, I would for Service I brought my car in for service 1 1/2 months ago. I wanted it evaluated to see if an issue I was having was covered under what GM calls "special cove I brought my car in for service 1 1/2 months ago. I wanted it evaluated to see if an issue I was having was covered under what GM calls "special coverage", not a recall per se, but similar. After scheduling an appt, my car was looked at and I was notified that cost was covered under GMs bulletin. However, the work could not be done with $900 worth of additional work that was not covered. It would take a few days to get parts. I started asking around and doing some research and was questioning this "additional work" When I went to pick up my vehicle that day, I asked my service "adviser", Rui, if the additional work was really needed and could he explain it to me. I was rudely told "I can't do one without the other if you want me to put the car on the lift right now I will!" I told Rui there will be no need, as they won't be doing the work. I have since taken my car to a more reputable dealer, where the work was performed under the special coverage from GM at NO COST and no additional work was needed to complete it. They actually held my car because they said it wasn't safe to drive, yet Alden let me take it because I wouldn't agree to to the $900 of additional work. My point, do your homework, ask questions before you agree to let Alden do any work on your vehicle. I saved $900 by getting mine fixed elsewhere. More

I had no idea buying a new truck could be this easy. Marc was very knowledgeable and more than friendly. He went out of his way to make me feel comfortable and worked harder than anyone anywhere else to get the exact price I was looking to pay. I've bought many cars in my life and I only wish I had met Marc years ago. If you're looking to buy a new or used car or truck it would be in your best interest to go to Alden and ask for Marc Mello. He is an asset to this company and I look forward to buying more vehicles from him for everyone in my family. This was my best experience ever in a car dealership. Thank you Marc for making this whole process simple. More
Went to this dealership service dept with a few different GM vehicles I've owned and may I say I wouldn't look anywhere else or even let anyone else touch my GM vehicle. These guys really know there GMs and GM vehicles I've owned and may I say I wouldn't look anywhere else or even let anyone else touch my GM vehicle. These guys really know there GMs and never questionable when you leave the service dept. whether they fixed it right or how long is the repair going to last. Brought my 97 Pontiac Grand Prix in for transmission repairs and tuning and felt like my car was in good hands and they kept me informed throughout the repairs of what if any others repairs were needed. Also brought my 05 Pontiac Grand Prix in for service recently and accessory installation and they once again came through with flying colors. You ask them a question no matter what and they are on it 100% of the times. Just a very great unquestionable service area to deal with and would highly recommend them to anyone and everyone. Prices can at times be a bit much but well worth it. More

Roy was professional, funny, apologetic and empathetic. I've been doing business with this location for years and have not always felt that the service agent understood what a significant inconvenience it is to be without your personal vehicle, as well as the angst of wondering how much the repair will cost. Had i encountered that indifference again, i likely would have taken my car elsewhere rather than return for a third time to drop my car for the same issue. More
