BUYER BEWARE: Sold a Dangerous Vehicle & Treated Like a Criminal When I Complained On April 2, 2026, I purchased a used 2024 BMW i4 from Acura of Valley Stream. That same evening, my dashboard lit up indi Criminal When I Complained On April 2, 2026, I purchased a used 2024 BMW i4 from Acura of Valley Stream. That same evening, my dashboard lit up indicating the car had not been serviced since December 2025. The very next morning, I scheduled an appointment with BMW Main Line to address this. What BMW found was alarming: the vehicle had been sold to me with 3 open recalls — meaning it was unsafe and legally should not have been sold in that condition. BMW had to keep my car to address them. During their inspection, they also discovered that 3 out of 4 tires were below the legal inspection approval grade — a serious safety hazard. I called Acura of Valley Stream and spoke with the manager, Fari, to report these findings. His response was nothing short of disgraceful: He accused me of lying and suggested I had the tires swapped myself. He told me to "get another opinion" — and when I asked what the remedy would be if that opinion matched BMW's, he said "We'll cross that bridge when we get there" — and then, "Honestly, nothing." He accused me of using this situation to negotiate a discount, referencing a prior call where I had tried to negotiate the price — as if advocating for yourself as a buyer disqualifies you from basic consumer protections. When I requested their pre-sale inspection report to compare against BMW's findings, he told me he didn't have it — which raises serious questions about whether a proper inspection was ever done. I was sold a vehicle with multiple safety recalls and dangerously worn tires. Instead of taking accountability, the manager insulted my integrity, offered zero remedies, and made it clear he had no intention of making this right. This is not just poor customer service — this is a consumer safety issue. I urge anyone considering purchasing a vehicle here to demand full inspection documentation and have any used vehicle independently inspected before signing anything. Do not trust verbal assurances. I will be filing complaints with the NYS DMV, the Better Business Bureau, and the FTC. No one should be treated this way after spending their hard-earned money. More

BEWARE! !!!! The service department at Acura of Valley Stream, NY is not competent, honest or professional!!! My Acura MDX was running perfectly and sounded !!!! The service department at Acura of Valley Stream, NY is not competent, honest or professional!!! My Acura MDX was running perfectly and sounded quiet and smooth prior to choosing this service center to perform a Recall repair. The recall repair was done, but they damaged my exhaust catalytic converter during the process of the repair. I noticed this loud sound when accelerating and during idle almost immediately upon leaving the service department. I immediately called and complained to the service rep, but she (Courtney) said the tech had left for the day and to bring car back next week when she would be back at work. I bought the car back and they tried every trick or thing they could think of to keep from taking accountability for the problem they caused. They even tried to claim that the exhaust was damaged from a prior accident, and had insurance adjuster come to inspect vehicle and I knew this was not going to be covered as the accident was on the right rear of the truck, and the catalytic converter is up front and has to be removed to make the recall repair. This whole experience has been a mess and ultimately I called Honda/Acura corporate office to make a complaint and I am still awaiting for them to make a decision based upon my complaint. If need be I will file suit and let judge decide. My humble advise is if you like the Acura brand of cars and trucks, and you also value your time, and hard earned money-I would not choose Acura of Valley Stream, NY to service your vehicle. Save your self from the incompetent repairs, lies, no communication, no leadership and complete absence of customer service this place serves up on a regular and consistent basis. FYI- its been 3 weeks and I am still waiting for a call back from the manager, Norman Ryder. He is never there and I have called to speak to him or his boss and no one is ever available. This place is the bottom of the barrel in regards to service centers and I am shocked and appalled by the level of incompetence, rudeness and overall disregard to assist customers. In hindsight I wish I read the online reviews and ratings of this place prior to having my recall performed here. My only hope is to educate others from making a costly mistake. Especially when we invest several thousands of dollars into purchasing a vehicle and we take it to dealer to get service. I implore all who read this review to stay away from this place and choose another service center for repairs. More
I leased my first Acura and I have to be completely honest, I went to another dealerships at first and then stopped by Valley Stream Acura afterwards.
