We strive to give each customer an excellent and transparent experience. When a customer contacts our service department to schedule an appointment for service, our goal is to make sure that the customer has a clear understanding of our pricing before they visit, especially when it comes to an oil change. Acura requires synthetic oil to help maintain your vehicle running properly on newer Acura models. On older Acura models regular oil is ok to use. This is the reason why our service notifications, service specials and when you speak with a service advisor, indicate that synthetic oil will be an additional cost. The mailer that was sent to the client was directly from Acura Corporation and not, Acura of Tempe... Acura Corporation sends service mailers/coupons on behalf of the dealership however, we have limited control over what specific coupons and when items such as this are sent to our clients. Acura of Tempe currently has 36 different Acura vehicles available for service customers. Under the Acura Loaner Car program, a loaner car is made available to a customer whose service visit will take longer than two hours to complete. For customers who purchased their Acura from Acura of Tempe, we will provide a vehicle in cases where a service visit will take less than two hours upon request. We follow this process to allow clients with issues taking more than two hours to have a vehicle available for their needs and quite frankly, found its much appreciated by clients as they have the ability to wait for minor services which, in the end saves them time from the back and forth of coming to the dealership to return a loaner vehicle. Acura of Tempe responded

The mailer the client received was sent by Acura Corporation on behalf of Acura of Tempe. Acura has both non-synthetic and synthetic oil options therefore, differences in lube, oil and filter changes are correct depending upon client choice (and vehicle need). Lastly, we do not provide loaner vehicles for Express Service/Quick Service items... our 40 loaner vehicles are provided specifically for "down for service" where a car cannot be driven (we believe ensuring a client has a vehicle available when/where their car is down for service is a better policy vs. providing one for a lube, oil & filter Express Service scenario). We do explain this loaner car policy in detail when clients purchase from our dealership.
