By far the worst experience from a reputable dealership ever Let me start by saying that I have owned several vehicles and done business with several dealerships and I can honestly say that Nissan of Newnan was Let me start by saying that I have owned several vehicles and done business with several dealerships and I can honestly say that Nissan of Newnan was the worst experience that I have ever encountered! I inquired about a vehicle I seen online and was assigned to the used car manager by the name of DJ. When I arrived DJ came out, introduced himself and immediately assigned me to a salesman by the name of Timothy Meadows and disappeared. We test drove the vehicle and I told him that I was interested and ready to talk numbers. As we sat down I explained to Tim that I was pre-approved through my credit union, so there was no need to run my credit for financing. Tim appeared to be new to the car selling business as he knew nothing about the vehicle itself, nor could he answer any questions I asked about finance, warranty or adding accessories to the vehicle. I asked Tim to run me some numbers using the rate that my credit union offered me and the running back and forth to the finance dept. began. A finance manager by the name of Sergio came over and began going over the numbers with me. His numbers were completely off from what me and my credit union calculated so I asked him what interest rate did he use? He told me 5%. My question is why are you calculating 5% when I clearly told you that my rate was 2.5%? At this point the pushy aggressive tactics came out. I simply asked them to create me a contract so I can take it to my credit union and it was like pulling teeth! Both Tim and Sergio kept asking me why am I not wanting to finance with them? The answer was simple. Your rate is double mine! Tim starts talking about “you only looking at $8 a month using their financing vs my own”. Tim was way off and should stick to sales and not numbers. I finally asked them again to get me the numbers sheet to take to my credit union and at that point both Tim and Sergio washed their hands with me solely because I refused their financing. After Sergio leaves, Tim gets flustered because he feels the sale slipping through his hands. At this point Tim starts ranting about how much profit he is losing on the vehicle and makes a comment that if $8 a month was hurting me I could swing my the dealership once a month and he will give it to me. Seriously? At this point im pretty much done and so is my wife. I ask Tim a final time for the paperwork to submit to my credit union. He aggressively slides the paperwork across the desk and tells us if we change our minds he will be there for another 45 minutes. When I looked at the paperwork on the way out the door I see that Sergio adjusted the price from $21.909 to $26,299. The initial sales price was $22,269.00. Hopefully this will get to the General Manager and he can make some adjustments here. I drove all the way from McDonough to Newnan for absolutely nothing! I passed several Nissan dealerships during my commute which I could have chosen, but I like this particular vehicle and thought we could make a deal. Too bad Tim cared more about his profit than building a rapport which could have led to not only this purchase, but recommendations which would have allowed him to profit in the future…… More
