Well, I attempted to do business with 112Auto today and it cost me before I even walked in the door. I chatted in on their website from a listing on a 2008 Lincoln MKZ $7,495. The representative sent me a link to the car in question to confirm it was the one. It was, they confirmed and said it was on the lot. I then get a text to my phone from them asking what time I can come down. 3:00pm. Figuring as long as it drove good, we’d work a deal and I’d get it. Spent $40 on a carfax, reads like a good used car. Spend $17.00 one way on an Uber. With a stop at the bank to take out $2,500 for the Downpayment. Walk in the door the gentleman at the desk asks if he can help me. To which I say: Me: I was speaking to someone through text about the 08 Lincoln, to come down and check it out. Salesman: Lincoln? Oh for $7,495? Me: Yes, black on black. Salesman: We sold that months ago, I wish they would remove that from the website, it’s long sold. Me: But I just spoke to someone online and they confirmed it was currently on the lot, that’s why I came down. Salesman: No, sorry, it’s long sold. I’m sorry I wish they would remove it. Is there anything else on the lot you see? Me: No, I was just interested in that car. Thank you. So, lesson learned. Bait and switch specials.
