Bad at Every Step [Please continue after this to my Service entry] On a visit to look at new SUVs we were left unattended until we asked after over 5 minutes for a salesman to tell us about their SUV Service entry] On a visit to look at new SUVs we were left unattended until we asked after over 5 minutes for a salesman to tell us about their SUVs and get a general idea of the trade-in value of the car we drove there. A very young man appeared with limited ability to answer our questions. He kept urging us to give over my keys for our 12yo BMW 550i for a test drive to assess it as a trade in. The car had no problems or issues whatsoever when we arrived there. After more than 30 min waiting they brought the keys back saying that after one block the car showed major error lights and was misfiring and wasn't safely drivable. We expressed incredulity at the extreme unlikeliness of this happening and also wondered what took over half an hour. They didn't feel they owed me any explanation or any acknowledgement that this problem appeared while in their hands and so they bore some kind of responsibility. None of the several people I described this to found what happened credible as an unfortunate coincidence, although it is a distant possibility (like winning the sweepstakes). I was stuck having their service department evaluate the car since undrivable for $269. [continue to Service entry] More
Bad at Every Step [continuation from Sales review] The “recommendation” was to replace a leaking fuel injector for $3600. Because I was uncomfortable about this problem arising for the first time when th “recommendation” was to replace a leaking fuel injector for $3600. Because I was uncomfortable about this problem arising for the first time when they test drove the car with no hint of it before, I decided to get a second opinion from an auto mechanic next door. They too found a leaking injector and offered to replace it for $1300! So I had them replace it only to be told that error lights and misfiring persisted. They looked for what else could be causing this but couldn’t find it and recommended I take it back to the BMW dealer. The dealer’s unqualified diagnosis was wrong or at least incomplete. They had indicated replacement of the injector would fix the car. Or so I thought, just as with every dealer or mechanic I had worked with in my life. On returning the car to them they said there would be another $269 inspection fee, denied inspection was inadequate. Instead they blamed the other mechanic first and then claimed their unqualified “recommendation” was only meant to be a first try at fixing the car and required me to pay $3272 more to repair “Miscellaneous Fuel Supply System” even though the injector had been replaced. At first they lied telling me the cause was the other mechanic’s use of “after market parts” when in fact this mechanic had purchased the injector from them. Jarred who was my guy at service ignored multiple requests to itemize the supposed miscellaneous fuel items.* He said different things at different times, usually took more than a day and repeated calls to respond to calls from me the few times he did respond. Every time I pressed him about his initial diagnosis being wrong/inadequate and requiring additional time and money he found a way to up the repair price further instead. The latest recommendation totaled over $4800. The car has been with them or the other mechanic briefly for over 3 weeks costing also the use of the car with no issues when we drove to the dealer I have not authorized any of these questionable further recommendations. Since I see little other way to get a BMW dealer’s assistance, I am left with offering the car unfixed and barely derivable with misfires to a national car buyer who would come to Rockville BMW to inspect the car with these issues and make a bid for the car. I have paid a lot and will lose possibly thousands compared to selling the car I drove in with or even one with an injector leak fairly dealt with. P.S. At the time the outside buyer was due to arrive to transact sale to them this Jarred tried to block release of the car saying he had added for diagnostic purposes a spark plug and coil that must be paid for. He mentioned possibly doing this but I never agreed verbally or in writing. I threatened to engage a lawyer if he insisted. He eventually relented. While arguing with him on the phone my wife who was there to get the car overheard another service manager attempting to up-charge another customer. After all of this, it feels impossible not to conclude this dealership is crooked. *The mobile form from Autonation they sent for approval of service is headed by; “Our overall technical inspection has found additional recommendations that your vehicle may need” This is very cleverly qualified and misleading nonsense. Inspection for $269 should produce a list of specified PROBLEMS that ARE found not recommendations that “your vehicle” MAY need. This is also literally nonsense since vehicles don’t need recommendations, people do. Then they should list the service that Will repair each not MAY do so--unless they say they can’t determine these and further specific measures are needed to do so and don’t at that point bill the $269. Recently I had my BMW serviced and was disappointed. This was my experience. First the service department advisor suggested a coolant flush which was already done 12 months ago and not due. Fortunately, This was my experience. First the service department advisor suggested a coolant flush which was already done 12 months ago and not due. Fortunately, I caught that right away and it was not ordered. Then a condition-based vehicle check was ordered instead of the complimentary multipoint inspection coupon service (gave the coupon). I also ask the advisor about a cabin air filter quote and agreed to have it replaced. This is where things got miscommunicated because of misunderstanding. What I wanted and got were two different things. They did the vehicle condition check and charged me and did not perform the cabin air filter change. Prior to taking the vehicle in for service I noticed from the last service done, one single air filter housing clip missing. They did not stock this clip and now waiting for the part. Additionally, I left two messages for two of the service managers concerning my experience and have yet to receive a courtesy call back. When customer service declines because of increased service demands that's not a good sign. Finally, there was no one available at the payment area to pay the invoice. Fortunately, I was able to pay with the service advisor which was the one good thing. In conclusion I only brought the car in for a yearly oil and filter change, 2yr brake flush, cabin filter, and a single engine air filter housing clip. So, my car still needs the cabin filter and engine air filter securing clip. More
I would like to express my dissatisfaction and share my unpleasant experience with one of your dealerships. I would also like to file a formal complaint against this dealership for shady business pract my unpleasant experience with one of your dealerships. I would also like to file a formal complaint against this dealership for shady business practices. I purchased a 2021 Tesla model 3 from BMW of Rockville as an out of state buyer. I reside in California while the dealership is located in Maryland . So I purchased the vehicle sight unseen and depended on the honesty of the salesperson named Alwyn Alli. My cashier's check arrived at the dealership on March 1, 2024. And all paperwork was completed and sent back with FedEx the same week. It has now been almost two months and I have not received the vehicle registration, title or plates. I have made several attempts to contact the dealer and haven't heard back from anyone. I have left several voicemails with their finance department (Mina Awad, Taylor James and Nikolay Mursin) and haven't heard back. James Taylor claims there was a delay with the processing because of the vehicle inspection form which I returned to him the next day. I have the email thread attached with date stamps. James Taylor requested the form 3 weeks after my purchase of the vehicle leaving me to believe he didn't process the paperwork until a few weeks after my purchase causing the delay himself. The temporary tags expire May 3rd 2024 leaving me with no choice but to not drive the vehicle to avoid the risk of a traffic ticket and impound. The other issue I experienced with this dealership has to do with the salesperson Alwyn who sold me the car. Not only was he unreachable and not helpful in anyway, but he also lied to me in regards to the condition of the vehicle. I asked Alwyn numerous times if the vehicle has had any body imperfections or has had any body work done to it. He kept confirming to me that it did not and that the car is pristine with not a single scratch or imperfection. Once the vehicle was delivered I immediately noticed a big scrape on the passenger side rocker panel as well as a front bumper that was clearly painted. I also reviewed the camera footage that the Tesla dashcam records and I see it being driven from BMW of Rockville to a body shop nearby named "Car Source" where it had the front bumper painted. I called the body shop and was able to acquire the bill from the bodywork completed. (Please see attachment) Not only does it shock me that a BMW dealership would take their cars to a mediocre body shop but that their sales people lie and cheat their customers to believe the car hasn't had any body work done. The painted bumper is so obvious because there is over spray and signs of a cheap paint job done (see pictures of over spray on trim and sensors not matching). I requested all service and reconditioning records of the vehicle but Alwyn just sent me the 50 point inspection and intentionally left out the body shop records. He hid this information from me that would have prevented me from buying this vehicle. Instead he lied and said the only reconditioning the vehicle had was a scrape on the wheel and that's all. I attached screenshots of our communication with unhelpful and slow responses. Either Alwyn would respond several days later or not at all. Now the scrape on the rocker panel is also a big problem, as I received quotes from Tesla of $2800 to have it repaired. This scrape was there before the vehicle was transported as pictures prove. But Alwyn is claiming the transportation company did this which is false. At this point I am beyond frustrated and upset that I may have to seek legal action against this dealership. This complaint will also be sent to BBB and posted on ALL review sites until a solution has been provided. More
I had a GREAT experience buying a used car from BMW Rockville. My sales agent, Hwevin, was fantastic. He communicated with me throughout the process, and even delivered the car to my house! It's a b Rockville. My sales agent, Hwevin, was fantastic. He communicated with me throughout the process, and even delivered the car to my house! It's a beautiful 2022 Bronco Wildtrak and it was very reasonably priced. In addition, after purchasing the car, I discovered that there was damage to the soft top. Hwevin and the dealership stood by their promise and ensured the issue was fixed the right way so I did not have to return the car (which I did not want to do). In addition, as an Autonation dealer, they have warranty packages that are better than most. I appreciated that there was little to no "pressure" to purchase one or use their financing. It was a very pleasant experience and that made the hassle of buying a car so much better. Can't recommend Hwevin and BMW Rockville enough! More

I was greeted on the morning of arriving at the dealership and was able to discuss the vehicle of my interest. I test-drove the vehicle and learned about the features. The buying process was very seamless, easy, and quick. Paul assisted me with completing my finance papers with ease. I was happy to learn that I did not have to spend all day at the dealership, unlike my previous car-buying experiences! Everyone was friendly and professional and the atmosphere was cool and calm.
