These guys are literally around the corner from my house. As a lifelong gear head and many time sports car owner including a Corvette, I became interested in a C8 Corvette. Decided it was time to get serious, and wanted to drive one. Went and was greeted by a salesperson. Explained the situation and said I'd like to see about test driving a Stingray, and was immediately rebuffed. I walked away, figuring I had been judged. They had a few dealer stock cars, not customer orders. It bugged me, so I called the manager. According to him, this is their policy. Not just this dealer, but the entire Earnhardt network. xxx? I asked if he really expected people to order an $85k car without driving one first, and the answer was basically 'yes'. He said all the Vettes they sold were orders or undriven stock, which is absolutely untrue as they've had a couple in their showroom for at least a month including an E-Ray. Ya know what? You aren't Porsche, and that's exactly why I'd rather have a Chevy, so stop acting like you are Porsche. You just look silly. I called AutoNation and was immediately able to set up an appointment to drive a Stingray. That is where I'll be buying, I'll take my 50k down and 860 credit score and give them my business. Don't bother with Earnhardt, these guys are clowns. They don't deserve a dime of yours. More
