Dealer was selling a used car that they took in for $2000 on a trade for over $5000. When I inquired about the car, the manager told me that they put $1000 into the car. However, when I asked her if sh $2000 on a trade for over $5000. When I inquired about the car, the manager told me that they put $1000 into the car. However, when I asked her if she could tell me what exactly was done to the car, I was told only a mismatched door handle, oil change, wiper blades, filter and cleaning. A sales manager also wouldn't list what was done exactly. Nor could they explain the severely inflated fees that they said were my state fees...although my state was only charging me $60 in fees above taxes to register and title the car. The dealer just wanted to make as much money as possible as said to me by the general manager, whom also pointed out that he would rather sell to someone local so he could make money on oil changes, rather than an out of state NYer such as myself. I would say I would appreciate his honesty, but not after the sales managers would not list, because they couldn't, list the gross mark up on this car, their grossly over estimated fees, and the used car managers statement that they had no room to negotiate on it.
