I made an 8 a. m. Monday appointment for a check-engine light and an “Exhaust Full—See Dealer” code, and I dropped the vehicle off Sunday as requested. I was told th m. I was told the DEF system could likely be cleaned and that the process would take a few hours. By noon on Tuesday, the vehicle had still not been inspected until I called for an update. I was then told that the DPF required complete replacement, which was not what had been discussed initially. I was also encouraged to authorize brake work at twice the price quoted by our local shop, even though the original diagnostic and repair work had not been completed. The vehicle was delayed by a day and a half beyond the scheduled appointment, communication was inadequate, and the recommended repairs changed significantly from the initial discussion. More
