After 6 months of researching e-vehicles, I leased a 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 6 on Sunday. The factor that finally convinced me to make the move was the patient, informative salesperson, Marcos Rodriguez. He introduced me to multiple e-vehicles that Hyundai makes and took me out on a test drive on two of the vehicles I winnowed my choices down to. On the test drive, he calmly and clearly explained each of the car’s different driving features and advised on what works to get the most miles from driving and braking strategies. When we returned from the test drive, he printed out the specs on each car for the 2024 and 2025 models so that I could compare them, and he answered questions on each. He did all of this in an informative versus a sales hustle sort of way that kept me interested versus bolting for the door (my SOP to a hard push). When I asked about buying versus leasing and different financing options, he presented 3 or 4 for me to study—leaving me time to reflect and do my own calculations. I raised some questions, and he promptly got answers from the finance department and a deal I couldn’t resist. To top it all off when I returned to sign the leasing docs, there was the car with a beautiful red bow on the hood. How’s that for service? He then sat in the car and explained each of the screens and electronic features on the car---one at a time and checked to see if I understood before moving on to the next one. It’s the way a good math teacher should present formulas to ensure learning and comprehension. If I ran the Patterson Hyundai, I would have Marcos training the other sales reps on how to sell and perform great customer service. As I was getting ready to leave the dealership, another customer drove up and as she exited her car said, “Are you buying a car from Marcos? He’s the best.” I agree. More
