Good evening, Mr. Ackley I apologize for the interaction we had upon your visit. I was previously unaware that you were here the day before and that you had asked for an out the door price. My interpretation was that you were negotiating without affording us the fair opportunity to show value in our product; that puts us at an immediate disadvantage because if there is no value built, we have no right asking for any dollar amount. Nonetheless, this is a tactic some of our customers use and we handled it incorrectly. As the new car manager here, I realize not everyone pays MSRP or "sticker price" but as a policy we don’t deviate from the sticker when we are just “talking”. MSRP on the vehicle you were inquiring about is $29,655.00 plus tax, tag and all other fees. Out the door that becomes $32,769.77 assuming you need a new tag. I realize we probably lost this opportunity to sell you a vehicle and that’s unfortunate. We do sell between 150-200 vehicles and our customers seem to love buying cars here. If there is anything we could do to repair our relationship, please let me know; and if not, I completely understand. Once again please accept my personal apology and that of Headquarter Honda’s.

If I may, I want to offer you an out the door pricing, including explanation of the difference between Orange and Lake County taxes. In order to provide you with the most precise pricing; I would like to know the model and trim level you are interesting in acquiring. As you are well aware, more than states taxes are included at contract. Therefore, I must ask the following for all to be considered and is included for your request: Will you have a trade and transferring or require a new tag and registration? I will work with our Internet Manager, Chris Cutting, to be sure that everything is included. Also, do you have preference of color, when you are ready; we can reserve the vehicle for your inspection prior to finalization? I accept the apology. I already own a Honda Odyssey. I already like it. You didn't need to sell me, and I abhor the practice of wasting time so as to invest a customer in the sale. As to negotiating, I went and got prices from your competitors and they did not seem especially put out to offer me an out the door price. I would have appreciated a competitive quote, but would also have been satisfied just understanding the fees and tax implications as I live in Orange county and you are in Lake County. If fees were to be included at contract time that I had not previously been made aware of I would have walked away. Rather than put either of us in that position I thought it would be a good idea to find out ahead of time. Good luck in the future, but you owe Leon a missed commission.

Mr. Efani, we do not understand what happened between Monday and Tuesday. We invited you back Monday to go over the transaction. We understand that a lot of time and energy goes into a customers' transaction from the customer and ourselves. What is everyday for us, is not always for the customer, admittedly on both sides there can be miscommunication on what we are explaining and to understand what is being ask of us. For this we most sincerely apologize. The original transaction that you agreed to was to buy the car at 66 months and $344 per month. You were offered many options for coverage for your vehicle at the time you signed the contract. You choose warranty and gap protection. Monday, we offered to extend the terms since you wanted the payment to be the same and keep the coverage. We gave you the option to re-do your contract and you declined. You expressed your appreciation to John and apologized about what you had posted on this visit and expressed remorse. John inquired if you would want to remove it. You then gave hugs and left the dealership happy. If you have decide you would like to re-do your contract, we invite you back to sit with our General Manager to complete this re-contracting. Before I start, I should clarify few points. First, neither I did not apologized to John nor I have not given him a hug. Second I did not expressed any remorse or appreciation to John. I am ready to go through lie detector or .... To make it very simple, my wife and I went through a lengthy negotiation and agreed on financing the vehicle for 66 months at 1.09. In next room we where offered Gap insurance and extended warranty which made our monthly payment much higher. I also was told that I must decide right there or never be able to have them again. I want them but not at that price. Again after going back and forth, price came down to 344 a month(about 16 more then original price) but never mentioned that the terms where changed as well ( from 66 months to 72 months and from 1.09 to 3.19).Mr John probably mistaken me with someone else.
