1 ONE STAR – BUYER BEWARE. DISHONESTY, DISRESPECT, AND ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY. If you are considering purchasing a used vehicle from 5 Star Ford, I strongly encourage you to t DISHONESTY, DISRESPECT, AND ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY. If you are considering purchasing a used vehicle from 5 Star Ford, I strongly encourage you to take your business elsewhere. Our experience with this dealership, particularly salesperson Kimberly Pendley and manager Jeff Crabtree, has been nothing short of appalling. We purchased a used Ford F-150 for our 16-year-old son. Having experienced vehicle issues in the past, I made it a point to ask Kimberly MULTIPLE times about the mechanical condition of the truck, specifically the engine and transmission. I was repeatedly assured that the vehicle was in excellent condition and that its only imperfections were cosmetic, such as minor scratches and dents. Those assurances proved to be worthless. Within ONE WEEK of bringing the truck home, we discovered significant fluid leaks, leaving what appeared to be oil or transmission fluid stains all over the street, of various ages. I immediately contacted Kimberly, who instructed us to bring the truck to the dealership the following day for inspection. What happened next was even more disturbing than the mechanical issues themselves. Because I was working, my mother and my 16-year-old son brought the truck to the service department, just to be told they have zero knowledge of the truck getting service of any kind. I then instructed my son to go and search for Kimberly at the sales department. Instead of receiving professional assistance, they were met with hostility, defensiveness, and an astonishing lack of customer service. When I attempted to speak to Kimberly over the phone , she flat – out REFUSED, stating “ I do not want to talk to her”. Let that sink in. The salesperson who sold me the vehicle refused to speak to me when a serious problem arose just days after the purchase. Then came an equally concerning conversation with manager Jeff Crabtree. Jeff stated that had they fixed the truck, it would have been priced at $23,000 instead of the $17,000 we paid. An extraordinary statement to make to a customer who had been repeatedly assured that the vehicle was mechanically sound. When the implications of his statement became apparent, he began backpedaling. But perhaps the most shocking comment came from Kimberly herself. When my mother explained that we would NEVER have purchased the truck had known about these issues, Kimberly responded: “People buy broken cars all the time.” Unbelievable. We did not knowingly purchase a broken truck. We purchased a truck based on the representations made by YOUR salesperson. There is a significant difference. Neither my mother, nor my child deserved this treatment. The true measure of a dealer is not how they treat you while taking your money. It is how they treat you when something is wrong. 5 Star Ford of North Richland Hills failed miserably. To anyone considering buying a vehicle here: Do not mistake a salesperson’s assurances for proof of vehicle’s condition. Get an independent inspection, demand documentation, and think very carefully before trusting this dealership with your money. Five Star Ford may be the name, but our experience deserves ZERO stars.
