My experience showed the dealer's anti-consumer practices such as charging a small fortune $190 for a Diagnostic check (which is then applied to the cost of the repair. This is a predatory tactic to bully customers to commit to the insane markups this dealership sets. I was told I needed to replace my 2018 Honda civic's left rear wheel speed sensor. Edward told informed me the repair would be $500. Upon looking up the cost of the part. I noticed it was $50 on the HondaPartsNow website. When I asked for a breakdown of the cost. Edward told me the part cost $100. Then asked for the website where I saw to confirm then denying seeing the part for a lower cost and is available at the dealer inventory. I then asked ok hypothetically speaking if the part is $100. Why am I being charged $400 for a 20-30 min job which consists of removing the wheel and plugging in the new sensor. Edward told me it needs to be configured and fed me some more nonsense and this configuration computer is expensive which is what requires the $400 price tag. I confirmed this sensor is plug and play and does not need to be calibrated. I refused service, and replaced it myself withing 30 minutes. As expected the sensor was plug and play. So now I essentially paid and insane $190 fee for a diagnostic check. I would have respected it more if Edward would have come clean and told me the dealership charges $200 an hour and they are charging me for 2 hours work. Which is still insane for a 20 minute or less job for a professional. The dishonest and insane markup is why I gave 1 star. If I could I would demand More
