extremely disappointed with the service department at Southern 441 Toyota. Over the last few months, I have experienced a pattern of admitted mechanical negligence that put my family at risk. First, a metal object was left inside my tire after service, causing a blowout while my child was in the car. Next, my brakes failed due to improper installation of caliper pins (for which the dealer admitted fault and performed a $500+ corrective repair). Most recently, my oil pan was cross-threaded, causing a leak I unknowingly drove with for 5,000 miles.
Despite admitting fault for these mechanical failures, management is now refusing to provide a letter of liability or a powertrain warranty to cover potential internal engine damage caused by their error. They have stopped responding to emails and are attempting to deflect on safety issues. I have filed a formal complaint with Toyota Corporate and am sending a certified demand letter. I strongly recommend going elsewhere for service if you value safety and accountability.
