Overall great experience A1 Toyota came highly recommended when looking to purchase. Brenton was extremely patient and helpful through the entire ordeal and I felt he personal A1 Toyota came highly recommended when looking to purchase. Brenton was extremely patient and helpful through the entire ordeal and I felt he personally cared about me receiving the right car, price and service. He was consistent through some difficulties I encountered and really kept in contact to show that he cared about my transaction and peace of mind. Would definitely recommend. I also appreciate the work of the finance team in sealing the deal. Overall great, friendly staff all around. More

We met Kevin to consider a 2016 Highlander, and because of his caring, knowledgeable, and laid-back manner, we ultimately returned to purchase the vehicle from him. No haggle pricing, and perks such as free lifetime oil changes make this an attractive dealership. Financing with Paul was efficient, comprehensive, and a pleasant experience. Overall, recommend this dealership highly. More

Friendly, Upfront and Honest My Salesman (Brenton) was patient and very friendly, like talking with a family member or friend. He went through the whole process with me and prepared me for what would be a pretty quick meeting with Finance Officer (Carlos) with the exception of my Insurance company not having sent over my insurance. I couldn't ask for better service. Brenton Fisher was my salesperson. He was polite, professional and respectful of my choices and decisions. He was informative and helpful in every areas of my purchase. He certainly is a gentleman. Brenton was up front with the price and add on prices. I appreciate honesty. Every item was explained to my satisfaction. All my questions were answered. It went smoothly. Brenton went through the car with me explaining all the operations. He expressed his availability to assist if I need further help. I have brought all my cars from A-1 Toyota for the past 20 years. The facility remodel is great. More

Very Discouraging Experience A neighbor recommended A-1. I visited a couple of weeks ago to test drive a Camry. I enjoyed the comfort and handling of the Camry, yet I wasn’t sur A neighbor recommended A-1. I visited a couple of weeks ago to test drive a Camry. I enjoyed the comfort and handling of the Camry, yet I wasn’t sure about the color. The salesperson stated that he felt I didn't trust him as well as absolutely insisted I fill out the client information sheet. I politely told him that I knew him all of 10 minutes so of course I didn’t trust him. Regarding the client sheet, I gave my name, email and phone but did not want to provide my mailing address. He asked me at least 3 times during the sales presentation to write down my address because management really wants him to have all of that information. I told him that I felt forced to fill out the information, he just nodded it off with a smile, and I just gave an address. If that's a dealership policy, there should be latitude for the client to say, I'm not comfortable with sharing that information as of yet. In either case, they will get a copy of your license so I'm not sure what it matters. The salesperson courteously followed up a couple days afterward, and I told him I may bring a friend over to look at the Camry for a second opinion. I also mentioned that I would contact him if and when I was heading over. He called and sent me a text asking when I was coming, and I stated again that I would let him know ahead of time if I was coming. Within a few days, he again called twice and sent me another text. I felt hounded and decided that I didn't want to work with him any longer. Yesterday (9/8) he called me again, and this conversation is what put me over the top. He asked what car I bought. I mentioned that I bought an American car, and he said, "Why'd you buy that car"? I told him that I really liked the car and wanted to buy it. I like it, has great consumer report reviews, absolutely no recalls, and I like how it looks. He ended the conversation stating that since I bought that car, he will be seeing me again soon. I have never been so hounded, rudely treated, and talked down to in any interaction with a car salesman. There was another dealership in Waterbury that I chose not to buy from, and the salesperson was very professional on his follow-up and said he’d like to work with me in the future. That is an appropriate response. Although it appears very popular with clients and very professional, the experience just gave me a negative perception of A-1 unfortunately. However, since I bought an American car, based on what the salesman told me, my car will break down soon and I will be crawling back to them. Luckily, I visited a dealership in Wallingford, and the salesman was very respectful of me, loaned me the car for the night and allowed me to personally take it to my mechanic for inspection, and I ended up buying it from him Friday night before Labor Day. I will post a very positive review of this dealership soon. More

Dadic is super friendly and my parents have bought their cars from him. I didn't buy my Highlander from him, as I was buying out my expiring lease, but he knew me and gave his best to my family. I didn't end up getting a Rav4 from Brenton a few years back, but he was very nice and greeted me well getting this car. Nancy at the front desk is Filipina like my mom and surprised my mom when she bought her car with pansit noodles-- they were delicious. Carlos is my dude. Helped me find a super low rate buying out my lease. Completed nearly everything in a day. Let me plug in my iPhone to his speakers to jam out filling paperwork. He likes kung fu. Brought my car to get brakes and John helped me get out of there in a few hours. Webster saw that I was a DJ and asked for headphone advice. So he took extra special care of resurfacing my brakes. He's super friendly and smiling!! He likes bowling. ;p A1 Toyota= Like Frank Sinatra says... "Ayy #1." Great cars. Great people. That's how it should be. More

Terrible Car Buying Experience I did a lot of research before going out to buy a new vehicle and once we narrowed our choices of vehicles down we decided to start out at A-1 Toyota. I did a lot of research before going out to buy a new vehicle and once we narrowed our choices of vehicles down we decided to start out at A-1 Toyota. I searched their inventory online and received a phone call based on my inquiry and was given an appointment to come down. When we walked in, no one knew who we were meeting with. They ended up having Brenton come up and talk to us. He was more busy trying to sell my husband a Tundra then he was answering my questions. Every question he had about the Rav 4 we were considering he asked my husband versus me who was actually buying the vehicle. He took us on a test drive basically around the block...he never took us on the highway. We asked him questions about what was in the vehicle and he told us about options that were not available in that trim line. We told him at the beginning we were not purchasing today and he pressured us into leaving a deposit and became very rude when we told him no. We left and never came back. Too bad for A-1, because we ended up buying a Toyota from another dealer. A-1 should consider sending their staff there for customer service training. More
