On January 17th 2024 while searching for new Dodge Challenger, I came across an ad for Arrigo Dodge of Margate. Their website offered a Dodge Challenger Hellcat jailbreak priced at a supposed discount from $96,326 MSRP to $88,620, a discount of $7706. I telephoned the dealership to confirm vehicle and price availability, then drove the 75 miles from home to the store. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Austin, whom promptly greeted me, and showed me the car, which was parked inside the showroom. It had obviously been there awhile, as the car battery was dead, preventing the driver door from closing properly. I took note of the Monroney label posted on the vehicle which showed a "market adjustment" to well over $119,000. After looking at the car, I sat down with Austin to discuss price, etc. He mentioned that "they weren't doing the markup, and that the car is available at MSRP. I showed him the ad with the discount on that particular car. He excused himself, and moments later, he returned with Richard whom was presented as a manager. He promptly informed me that the sale price posted was invalid and that I could take the vehicle at full MSRP, or take the posted online discount of 7706.00 against the 119,000 marked up price. Needless to say, I was most disappointed, and left feeling hoodwinked, even after stating on the phone that I needed an "honest" deal. After a couple of hours spent on evaluating my trade (my beloved 2018 mercedes with 38k on the clock) and fighting to get a decent value for her, I reluctantly signed for the Dodge at MSRP. Once in the F&I office, all the signing took place on this computer screen table, which was difficult to read, and screens changed before I could read them. I was also hit with a mandatory add on for $2995 posted as "Arrigo Advantage" which supposedly offered lifetime powertrain warranty (at that store only), which is of no value to me, as the store is 75 miles away from me, and several much closer stores exist. After several hours, I was presented with the vehicle, which had not been properly detailed or fueled. I will say, that they at least had me drive to the gas station and fill up on them. There, the battery died again and the vehicle had to be bosted to re start. I have no remorse on the car itself, however my experience at the store left me with a bad taste in .y mouth due to the perceived sleight of hand regarding price, and that the car not being presented in proper condition. Unfortunately, I am not likely to return for anything there, nor am I going to recommend this dealership to anyone else looking for a Dodge. All of the people involved, however, were cordial and polite. More
