Researching local Subaru dealerships, there were a few concerning reviews with Plano management, but I decided to give them a chance because sales rep Angel Calix had such glowing and positive reviews. I booked an appointment specifically with Angel, and he called back promptly and was able to see us right away. The original used Crosstrek listing I was interested in had gotten sold over the weekend, but Angel was able to find comparable, if not better, options for me. He was incredibly accommodating and answered all of our questions thoroughly. I did not feel pressured at all into a sale, and he was willing to go the extra mile to get the best deal for us. I chose a used 2024 Crosstrek Limited in the cutest green color with 35k miles in excellent condition and service history. It fit perfectly for my needs and lifestyle. The process took about 3 hours, which is to be expected. The day I came, they were actually filming a Subaru commercial at the dealership, which was fun and interesting. Even with the chaos, the sales experience with Angel went smoothly. I had to return a rental car before picking up my new the next day, and Angel was willing to go as far as to give me a ride from my house on the way to the dealership. I highly recommend booking an appointment with Angel if you're interested in purchasing a Subaru. He looks out for his clients and goes above and beyond to find what fits your needs and budget. DO NOT BUY FROM EWING SUBARU OF PLANO — ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE AN OUT-OF-STATE BUYER. I recently purchased a 2019 Mercedes-AMG C63S Coupe from Ewing Subaru of Plano for approximately $55,000. Because I live ARE AN OUT-OF-STATE BUYER. I recently purchased a 2019 Mercedes-AMG C63S Coupe from Ewing Subaru of Plano for approximately $55,000. Because I live in California, I had no opportunity to inspect the vehicle in person before purchase and had to rely entirely on the dealership’s representations regarding the vehicle’s condition. That turned out to be a huge mistake. Immediately after receiving the car, I noticed severe brake screeching every single time the vehicle slowed down. I took the car to Land Rover Redwood City for a professional inspection, where multiple serious issues were identified: All four rotors are below acceptable standard Brakes are heavily worn Driver-side window control button is loose, malfunctioning, and comes off Seat extension button malfunctions Blind spot monitoring system malfunctions None of these issues were disclosed before the sale. After I contacted the dealership, Matt Marshall instructed me to pay out of pocket for a professional inspection and stated that if the inspection confirmed the vehicle was below standard, they would “remedy” the situation. However, once I sent over the inspection report, the response completely changed. Instead of addressing the documented problems, Matt repeatedly focused ONLY on the brake pad reading being at a “5” while completely ignoring the rotor measurements documented during the inspection: Front rotors: 31mm Rear rotors: 22mm I repeatedly asked why the rotor measurements were being ignored and requested a copy of the dealership’s pre-sale inspection report. After asking FOUR separate times, they finally sent me a report — except it conveniently did not even include brake or rotor measurements. When I continued pressing the issue and asking why the documented rotor measurements were being disregarded, Matt Marshall eventually hung up the phone on me. I also obtained an estimate from Mercedes-Benz of Walnut Creek showing that OEM replacement parts alone total approximately $7,766 BEFORE labor. At this point, the issue is not just the condition of the car — it is the complete lack of accountability after the sale. The dealership had no problem taking money from an out-of-state buyer, but once serious undisclosed issues were brought to their attention, communication became dismissive and unprofessional. My father co-signed for me, both of us have already taken credit inquiries and financing impacts, and I have already prepaid 6 months of insurance on the car. I simply want the dealership to honor what was promised and remedy the undisclosed issues with the vehicle they sold me. Had these problems been disclosed upfront, I would have negotiated repairs, adjusted pricing, or reconsidered the purchase entirely. If this is how Ewing Subaru of Plano chooses to conduct business, then other buyers deserve to know exactly what they are getting into before spending tens of thousands of dollars there. I have inspection reports, estimates, documentation, and records of communication attempts to support everything stated in this review. Angel was my salesperson, and he seems to be the only decent person there. He was the only person actually being responsive after the sale to try to help me resolve the issue, but management is very unprofessional, especially frank and Matt. They go back on their words, and hang up the phone on their customers. More
