We were met at the entrance and were immediately assisted by Al. He quickly pulled a car for us to test drive and was very helpful with details while driving and was personable. Once back everything seem by Al. He quickly pulled a car for us to test drive and was very helpful with details while driving and was personable. Once back everything seemed very rushed. Attention to detail started to lack. My husband was not concerned about what our monthly costs were yet as we knew that we would have to start financing for that, but he wanted the final price of the vehicle we were purchasing. We also had a trade in that we had slightly mentioned while test driving as we stated that my husband drives such car and I drive another, but that this would be my car. We never explicitly stated we had a trade in, nor was it asked. But it seemed since my husband was the “buyer” and he wasn’t trading his car, we did not have a trade in. Further along, Al asked if we would be okay with said monthly price, we said sure, knowing it would be more after all was said and done, but ran to financing even though we had asked for more details. It came to the point after Al ran between us and financing we asked him “what about our trade in?” You could tell that Al was clearly upset as his tone of voice and body language changed. This is where we tried to slow things down and make a clearer picture for everyone involved. Again, we had a trade in and we wanted to know the FINAL price of the car itself. Al started pulling papers from financing and going over numbers, which were incorrect. Number one he was selling us the wrong car! He had put all the details in for the vehicle we had test driven and not the car we had come for. I clocked that and asked him prior to him pulling any numbers as well because he had the wrong car on the screen and when asked he told me that he had the right car, not to worry. Number two, the price was to be with all the fees. The price they had started with was the online price (that is to include the fees), but were adding about $1500 worth of fees. At this point we were both getting pretty upset because Al was acting like we had no idea what we were talking about and honestly was being disrespectful to my husband, whom he was really talking to because it seemed as I was just “the girlfriend” he was buying a car for. What he didn’t know was I am the wife and have equal, if not more say as the one who will be driving the car. That is when finance came over. I missed the first guys name, but he seemed to have gotten the idea from Al, caring more of what my husband had to say then me who was trying to get things straight. He was really no help when it came to the trade in and numbers, which we were still asking for final numbers. Then Robert White came over. This is where and why this sale closed. He came over and talked to US and answered our questions. He also explained that nothing was going to happen that night because banks closed at 5! Robert, my husband and I came to an agreement on how we would move forward the next day and we left. The next day Robert and I were in contact multiple times throughout the day. He got us more for our trade and exactly where we wanted and expected to be for the overall cost of the car and our monthly payments. Again, my husband was looking at the overall cost. That is what the final say would be and Robert understood that. He even understood our frustration from the prior night and apologized for not getting involved sooner to set clear expectations. He was not able to be there when we were closing, but he made sure everything was ready for us when we got there. He was VERY helpful! In short, we arrive for signing. Al was overly nice, very concerned about this survey, and still was selling the wrong car. It all cleared up and we signed, but to put it simply we would not work with Al again. More
