Purchased a 2018 Ford Ecosport and received it via delivery on 9/24/2026. We were pressured to buy the extended warranty for over $4k, which we declined. After it was delivered to our residence, I test drove the vehicle immediately after arriving home from work. I felt/heard a popping from the front, and a humming sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. A Ford dealership found a bad passenger front axle, a loose front subframe bolt, & a rear wheel bearing assembly. After the repair, I drove it for two days and found the struts were making noise when traveling over bumps, the speedometer was malfunctioning, and the license plate light was blown out. Luther Brookdale VW approved the strut replacement but would not pay for the repair of the speedometer ($850) or burned-out license plate light ($250) via the service manager, Sean Doonan, “They are not safety issues”. There is nothing in the Luther Warranty excluding repairs on things that aren’t safety issues, however, Sean Doonan disagreed. HE WAS LYING; nothing in the warranty cites safety. I emailed the Luther Brookdale VW, used car manager, Devin Holmquist, asking the real reason why these repairs are not covered under the Luther Warranty. He has NEVER responded. A week later, I emailed the General Manager at Luther Brookdale VW, Todd Earnest, asking the same questions; Todd Ernest would NOT respond either. I waited another week and emailed Luther Corporate with the same email. At that time, the General Manager, Todd Ernest, called me asking for a call back. I refused, given the lack of integrity thus far. Todd Ernest agreed to email and he said, “Our position is the speedometer and blown bulb are wear and tear items”. Wait, first it must be a safety issue to be approved via Sean Doonan, service manager, then the General Manager, Todd Ernest, claims these two issues are wear and tear items? These mechanical issues are not tires or brake pads. The staff should keep their lies straight. THE FORD MANUAL clearly indicates the speedometer IS NOT A wear and tear item, AND THESE ISSUES WERE PRESENT WHILE IN LUTHER BROOKDALE VW's possession, before the sale, so they are LIABLE. THESE ARE EXISING ISSUES THAT LUTHER BROOKDALE VW DID NOT FIX WHILE IN THEIR POSSESSION BEFORE THE SALE. WE DID NOT BUY THIS VEHICLE "AS IS". That's why we thought we chose a reputable dealership, but we didn't. DURING THE 30-DAY WARRANTY (not really a warranty), WE HAD POSSESSION OF THE VEHICLE LESS THAN 8 DAYS DUE TO REPAIRS. DID LUTHER BROOKDALE VW PURPOSELY SELL US THE VEHICLE WITH MECHANICAL ISSUES THINKING WE WOULD BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY, SO THEY WOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS, OR DID THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT MISS SIX (6) MAJOR REPAIRS BEFORE WE TOOK POSSESSION? NO QUESTION, THOSE ARE THE ONLY 2 OPTIONS POSSIBLE, AND NIETHER OPTION ARE GOOD FOR LUTHER BROOKDALE VW. STAY AWAY FROM LUTHER BROOKDALE VW! YOU ARE BETTER OFF TAKING THE CHANCE WITH A PRIVATE OWNER AND SAVING LOTS OF MONEY VERSUS PAYING RETAIL WITH THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN REPAIRS! More

Adrien seriously went above and beyond for us. He was so kind, personable, and honest. Most importantly, he never made us feel like a burden. It felt a bit longer because we were driving all day, but even between the crying babies and overstimulation I was feeling, he was so patient. He called us later that night and offered to come show us more things about the van. And that to us was so amazing, I couldn’t say no. He’s answered every call even 3 weeks after buying the van!!
