Here’s what happened: I initially considered financing through the dealership, but my credit union offered a better rate, so I secured the loan there. The dealership contacted my bank to confirm whether t through the dealership, but my credit union offered a better rate, so I secured the loan there. The dealership contacted my bank to confirm whether the paperwork could be completed that day and indicated the truck might otherwise be sold. At 10:30 a.m., I confirmed the check was ready and texted my salesperson that I was approved and would arrive between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. to complete the paperwork. They replied, “Okay.” At 1:22 p.m., however, the salesperson informed me that the truck had been sold. The dealership offered only an apology. I then had to cancel both the insurance I had just arranged and the loan I had secured for the truck. My credit union later told me I was the third customer to experience this. The dealership showed no professionalism or integrity and did not honor its word.
