I have been using KIA Dodge for my KIA Sportage servicing - Act4int
I have been using KIA Dodge for my KIA Sportage servicing for few years now. Generally I am happy with their vehicle service and recommendations.
However this last time 5/12/2026 I had the oil changed, the Technician gave RO#48284 for extra services that I should do on my vehicle. I looked them up against the KIA Manual for Maintenance Schedule and the one that stood out was TEK050524043 to Remove and Replace Spark Plugs. In the KIA Maintenance Schedule, it is recommended to that around 96K miles. My vehicle has approx 42K miles. Why would the Tech recommend this service NOW? My car runs smooth and is in good condition!
Similarly the BGDDiffRear to perform Different Service Rear is recommended in the RO.
Again the KIA Maintenance Schedule mentions to ‘Inspect Rear Differential Fluid’ at 40K, 80K miles etc.
My car had a stored code P060600. The KIA dealership manager had found that and had recommended that the vehicle be checked for this code. If there is any problem with the vehicle powertrain and it is manufacturer issue( not caused by external factors such as rodents etc.) , it will be covered under warranty. The Tech simply cleared the code and did not give the diagnosis of whether there was an issue with vehicle powertrain.
It makes me question the Technician who was assigned my car for servicing.
