Above and Beyond! I had done some research and was in the market for a Certified Pre-Owned BMW X3 xDrive35i with the X Line Option Package. During my after-hours reconn I had done some research and was in the market for a Certified Pre-Owned BMW X3 xDrive35i with the X Line Option Package. During my after-hours reconnaissance scouting of dealer lots to see the available X3’s, my eyes were also consistently attracted to the X5 series, but then I would say to myself “Ehh, they are really too big. “ I had test driven an X3 previously and loved the handling and the ride but those colors and options were not exactly what I wanted, so I expanded my internet search to available vehicles within 250 miles of my home. Crazy? Maybe. I decided to journey to three states last weekend with my husband in tow. He was excited; it was a road trip! I had three appointments lined up to check out the X3’s on my list. At the last minute, I decided, maybe if we had time, we could also just look at an X5 that I found in Spring Valley, NY. We had a lot of distance to cover and kept a tight schedule, but I was successful in test driving all three of the X3’s on my list. It was now about 5:30 pm; my husband was tired and hungry. I reasoned, since we were so close, we could just stop by and do a quick walk through of the inventory lot at Wide World BMW of Spring Valley, NY, just to look at the last car on my list. I knew the dealership would be closed by the time we arrived, but there was a restaurant right around the corner. It would take 10 minutes, tops, so my husband agreed. It was well after six pm when we pulled in. We quickly scanned the inventory lot looking for the stock number of the final car of the day. The inventory lot was packed tight with cars, so much so, that we had to squeeze in sideways to check them out. As we approached closer to the showroom door of the Certified Pre-Owned lot, and to our utter surprise, three customers were being escorted out. The gentleman then greeted us, introduced himself as Karl Rodriguez, and asked if we needed assistance. I told him that I was looking for a specific stock number. He invited us into the showroom so he could look up the status of the vehicle. He advised that the specific car had been driven home by one of his colleagues, but he had another one very similar. We walked out to look at the exterior, the interior, the engine. It was sporty yet refined. Although it did not have the X Line features that I had traveled long and far to see, it did have the Luxury Option Package. The grill was chrome, the wheels were fancy spoked, and the car was really clean. Karl asked if I wanted to take it for a test drive. I said I knew that his dealership was closed and that we could come back, but he pushed on and said it was no trouble. I had not told him that we had driven all the way from Maryland that day. I did not want it to influence any of his actions. The car was blocked in so tightly that he had to move at least four other cars just to get this one out. Karl did so with a smile and a youthful eagerness to accommodate his customer, no matter what the time. As I was test driving the car, he spoke the entire time about all its features. He used his time wisely. He was able to answer all our questions. Some of my questions were “test questions”. In other words, they were questions in which I already knew the answers but wanted to see how he would respond. Did he know what he was talking about? Karl passed with flying colors! He spent time showing us the tailgate and how it worked, he opened all of the compartments, he showed us the complete interior controls, he folded down each seat and even told us about the ability to change the color if the interior lighting, while joking that when his children are misbehaving he changes the color to red, so they know that they must settle down. And then he said, “ I want you to hear something.” Karl turned on the premium sound system and he said, “Just listen”. I can tell you that I will never forget that moment. It gave me chills. Karl is a consummate professional. He is knowledgeable and skilled in his craft, and he is impressive. After the number crunching, I told him that I would think about it and that we greatly appreciated his time and would be in touch. As Karl escorted us out the door and across the street, so we wouldn’t get hit by passing cars, as it was by now, dusk, and sometime after 8:30 pm, he told us to be careful driving home to Maryland, and to text him when we arrived so he would know that we had made it safely. Not once in this process, did I feel rushed or pressured. If this entire experience is not outstanding customer care, I don’t know what is. As we got into our car to find a place for dinner before that long drive home, my husband said to me, “I really hope you can negotiate a deal. It would be so great to give Karl our business.” Then he said, “Come to think of it, I’d probably drive all the way up here myself when it’s time for me to buy my next car. The guy is that good!” It’s now a week later, and as of this evening, I am the proud owner of a BMW X5 xDrive35i and I am thrilled! Thank you, Mr. Karl Rodrigues. You sir made this happen! More

He stayed 2 hours after the closing time to help us finalize financing terms. He helped with price negotiation and answered all my questions. He then gave his business card at the end and insisted that I call him if I needed anything in the future. I've never seen a salesman run as much as George does. Overall, a great experience! More
