Our situation was somewhat complex since we were New York residents, moving to Minnesota and buying a car in Pennsylvania; we originally paid New York sales tax but the dealership later called and quickly refunded the tax so we could just pay it when we relocated to Minnesota. That really simplified things for us. We have had the car for two weeks and we love it. More

I drove into the new car section of Halterman's on June 5th with a 1997 Avalon which had a front end collision the previous day with the idea of just investigating the prices of the Sienna. John met us outside and brought us in to see the Sienna which we now realized had grown in size from previous years models. My wife brought a ConsumerReport with her and noticed the excellent review for the Rav4. John brought us outside to see the Rav4 and price them, and then showed us a white used 2010. Rosemarie wanted leather interiors and this car had it all. From the distance, he thought the price was 29,900 and he told us that the Carfax indicated that the original owner bought the car in January, 2010 and it was wholesaled out in March. The milage was about 2650 and the history was clean. He asked me if I would like to drive it and we went out for a spin. I have 2 Avalons, and I was really impressed with the handling and solid feel of the Rav4. It had everything we needed and the workmanship, seating and cargo room was excellent. We sat down and talked, got to know each other and decided that this was a good deal. He went out to bring in the price card, and it was 26,900, an even better deal. I drove the vehicle home and am delighted with it. John has been very helpful in getting all the insurance taken care of today (Monday) and continues to help me with all the new devices. The sales personnel and staff are extremely helpful and pleasant to discuss car buying with. The financial personnel are knowledgeable and friendly. The service department personnel are excellent and friendly. Prior to 2005 I've dealt with other car dealers and service departments (Dodge) who rip you off by charging for work which was not done, it is a relief to find one who is honest. Now, all my vehicles are serviced by Halterman's, even my Dodge's. More
