Milking money out of people I went to the dealer yesterday and tried to get my car inspected because I have “free inspections”. After driving an hour down to the dealership and w I went to the dealer yesterday and tried to get my car inspected because I have “free inspections”. After driving an hour down to the dealership and waiting for about an hour, I was told that I failed inspection because my tires needed to be replaced, and they were “too worn to inspect because the wear bars were showing”. They were more than happy to offer me the service right then for $500+. My tires have one season on them and about 25k miles so there’s no way they could be that worn. I declined their offer to replace my tires, and went on my way. When they gave me my car back, I went and inspected my tread, only to find I had over 1/16” of tread before the tread was remotely even with the wear bars. Needless to say, I feel they tried to take advantage of me because I’m a woman and they assume I don’t know any better. More
