Treat St J Subaru like the Black Plague, run away and never go near it. These people are horrible crooks who will rob you of your time and money whenever they get the chance. I made an appointment and to never go near it. These people are horrible crooks who will rob you of your time and money whenever they get the chance. I made an appointment and took my subi in for a bunch of manufacture defects and warranty work. I made sure to let them know that I needed a loaner car because the work was going to take a while, when I get there they seem to have lost that info, no idea that I needed one, despite making sure they knew when I made the appointment, leaving me to sit and wait around until one came back. I tell them all the things that are broke on the car. They fix the recalls but don't fix any of the other problems that I brought it in for, instead try and sell me tires and an overpriced oil change. Despite doing LITERALLY nothing to my car, they hand me a bill for $120 saying it is a charge for “diagnosing” my car, the diagnostic where they couldn’t see the issues I was describing (so evidently I am just a lier and those problems don’t exist). And despite DOING NOTHING and FIXING NOTHING, they want to charge me a bunch of money. I walked out and went to talk to the manager of the dealership. After the clerk went and told him that I wanted to talk, he and some salesmen in the glass walled office just sat there and stared at me while I waited. At that point I just left. Dealing with St J Subaru has been easily the worst dealership experience of my life. I will never buy another Subaru again because of them. I wasted $34,000 on one and it was a giant mistake. I won’t do it ever again. Forget Subaru! They are trash. And St J Subi sucks. Avoid these crooks. More
Let me start by saying Saint J Subaru prices are very good. I price shopped a number of dealerships in the region to determine what dealership I wanted to visit. Perhaps that was were I went wrong. The e good. I price shopped a number of dealerships in the region to determine what dealership I wanted to visit. Perhaps that was were I went wrong. The entire experience was a nightmare I wish never to repeat. Firstly to spend over four and a half hours at a dealership on a weekday when we were the only customers in the sales department is grossly excessive. The amount of time my husband and I were waiting to be seen by one person or another was frustrating to say the least. I know sales can be time consuming but the time waiting for them to get us into finance and have our car cleaned made up the majority of our visit. In the middle of a pandemic the last thing I feel like doing is spending excessive amounts of time in a strange place. Next the negotiation was probably one of the most degrading experiences of my life. I should have walked out when I was asked at the start if "all the decision makers were present". I am working professional and a mother, I have never in all my adult years been talked down to like such a child. The rest of conversation primarily consisted of the sales person talking to me as though I didn't know what I was talking about continuously itemizing everything that was "wrong" with my trade and trying to nickel and dime me over a trade allowance glaring at me the entire time. There was nothing customer oriented about any of it (she never so much as gave me a card while the sales manager was apparently too important to even come out and introduce himself). The final gut punch came when I was finally brought into finance about three hours after my arrival at which point I was completely exhausted. After I had signed multiple pieces of paper stating I was agreeing to the sale price I was informed my interest rate would be the highest I have ever seen quoted for someone looking for the type of loan I was. I felt completely defeated and ready to get the heck out of there and agreed to something I never should have just to finance through one of their preferred banks. At this point I felt like I had been given such a bait and switch tactic because they flat out refused to give me even a range of interest until they knew we would be exhausted and agree to almost anything to get home. I know this isn't common practice as I have been given more upfront information at other dealerships. At the end of the day we left the dealership with I what I believe was a fair deal. I am glad to read that others have had good experiences here because my take away was the company culture in general is tough, tough on staff and in turn high pressure on their customers. I know there are dealerships out there that actually feel customer service oriented and I can tell you start to finish it was clear this was not one of them. If you value your dignity I would suggest avoiding this place. More
My experience trying to buy a car with Matt Robinson was everything you hope buying a car is not. It was pressured, deceitful, unresponsive and involved terrible negotiations. I ended up buying from a deale everything you hope buying a car is not. It was pressured, deceitful, unresponsive and involved terrible negotiations. I ended up buying from a dealer that was respectful, responsive and collaborative. I would recommend you do the same. Additionally, I saw another sales person steal a glance at a customers private negotiation notes while the customer was in the restroom. I thought this was shady and it speaks about the dealerships overall integrity of their employees. More
Kalman Rosenfield, our sales consultant, went above and beyond in helping us to buy a 2020 Subaru Legacy in a crisis situation when we needed to get to the airport the next day. beyond in helping us to buy a 2020 Subaru Legacy in a crisis situation when we needed to get to the airport the next day. Chayse Jarvis works very hard to make a customer happy and leave with the Subaru they want. He helped my wife get her 2019 Forester which she loves, and he helped me get the Crosstrek I needed, and it wa and leave with the Subaru they want. He helped my wife get her 2019 Forester which she loves, and he helped me get the Crosstrek I needed, and it was no easy task, believe me. The support he received from the rest of the St. J staff to make the sale go through was impressive to say the least. We will not go anywhere else when the time comes for new vehicles. St. J and Chayse have our trust and we recommend both to our friends and family. Thank you. More
