A lease simply means the vehicle is financed differently; it does not guarantee all concerns are warrantable. It’s still absolutely ridiculous that you charge $190 for a diagnostic to figure out even what’s going on! I’m not even talking about the repair itself. The service rep seriously told me that regardless I f the repair was covered or not I’d still pay the $190 to get the car even looked at. No thank you. I’ll take it to a local shop where they don’t charge for a diagnostic. I’d rather support a business who actually wants my business cause Honda sure doesn’t make it sound like they want my business. I will never buy another Honda again in my life. Sucks cause yall were about to get a new lease from me in January. But not now cause you nickel and dime your customers over a matter of a diagnostic to figure out what’s wrong. This is my 3rd car that I’ve leased from yall and that relationship and trust was thrown out the window over $190 diagnostic that local shops do for free

Thank you for sharing your concerns. I understand how frustrating this feels, but I do want to clarify how diagnostic fees work. All dealerships regardless of brand charge diagnostic fees. This is because the work is performed by trained, certified technicians who use factory equipment to pinpoint the issue. The fee covers that time and expertise. The diagnostic charge is only applied when the concern is not a warrantable issue. If the problem is covered under Honda’s warranty, the diagnostic fee is waived. Independent shops may offer free diagnostics as an incentive, but dealerships are required to follow manufacturer procedures to ensure the repair is accurate and the warranty remains valid. If you’d like, I can review the concern and the information you were given to make sure everything was communicated correctly.

The plan you received is a Toyota-backed product, which means it can be used at any Toyota dealership nationwide. We include this complimentary maintenance on our pre-owned vehicles as an added benefit. While we’d love to have you service your vehicle here, you absolutely have the option to use the plan at a Toyota dealer closer to you. To make things easier, we also contacted the Toyota dealership near you, confirmed they accept your maintenance plan, and provided you with the advisor’s name we spoke with.
