When I pushed for the actual sales price, he looked me in the eye and confirmed '$42,000.00 and some change.' The price never moved. Not once. Those trips to the back room were not negotiations — they were a performance. While we waited, I stepped outside briefly to grab food for our hungry children. In that window, Mike walked my wife directly to the finance office. He then found me inside and steered me toward the service area, telling me there was something I would 'really like' to see. She signed the financing documents alone. That was not a coincidence — it was a calculation. They knew that once the contract was signed, our options would be limited. The worksheet they have used as evidence that we got what we expected doesn't even match the final contract — the trade-in value differs and a $1,495 charge appears on the worksheet but not in the contract. None of their explanations are plausible. We fought back for months. Through the dealership, through Hendrick corporate, through the NC Attorney General, through the BBB.
