Our experience The Nielsen dealership seems to put its emphasis on the customer service and it is clearly visible in employees' behavior and approach. Our experience of the first new car purchase was Excellent. Mike is very knowledgeable, helpful, courteous, and a thorough professional. He explained the intricate auto purchasing process clearly and answered the queries we had. He worked with us and met our expectations of the deal. For example, having explained previously that the Costco customer pricing will be applicable only to the vehicles currently in the inventory, he worked with other staff members to offer the Costco customer price for a pre-ordered vehicle, which we eventually did in September 2018 and took delivery in two months later. We consider ourselves as informed customers, did our homework, knew precisely what we wanted, and appreciate that sales personnel understand our approach and treat accordingly. While we were still shopping around, our experience with other dealerships in the area wasn't to our expectations. We at times felt that instead of listening to what we wanted, all sales people were interested in to shove whatever was available in their inventory. That's when we visited the Nielsen dealership, much before we actually made our purchase, and learned that they have the biggest inventory available in the area. One of the sales employees (unfortunately don't remember his name) drove us in the Pacifica Hybrid (the vehicle we were interested in) through the entire inventory to search for the color and options we wanted while explaining the features and driving feel of the car. He was patient and courteous to answer the queries we had. We did not find the color we were looking for in that visit. However, we never felt any pressure or coaxing tricks for making deals and purchase. In fact, while he gave a Costco price quote for an available vehicle in the inventory that we requested for, he also introduced us to a managerial level staff (again don't remember the name). The manager also was very helpful and courteous and thanked us to visit/consider their dealership. The overall experience we had made us decide to come back to the dealership despite the distance between our home and the dealership compared to others. On our second visit to the dealership, we met Mike for the first time and found him very helpful. He explained all the process behind purchasing a vehicle on pre-order, and made us comfortable enough to place a pre-order. We followed through about the updates and he informed us about the manufacturing stages like VIN number and assembly processes. On the day of delivery, we met a personnel in the finance department (I am bad with remembering names) who was very friendly and walked us through the intricacy of finance options and processes. On handing over the keys, Mike included key-rings with all three keys that carried his direct phone number explaining that the relationship does not end here, rather it starts and we are welcome to call him whenever desired. He also brought the vehicle to us and familiarized us with its features, menus, and functionalities etc. All in all, we left the dealership happy and relaxed despite the fact that any big purchase involves a bit of stress.
