We were sorry to inform you that we were unable to perform the needed repairs to your vehicle at this time. As previously discussed with you, upon inspection of the engine to determine failure it was found that there was a large amount of sludge in the crankcase, camshaft covers and oil filter housing. As we would like to perform the necessary repairs needed, it has been determined by the factory [Mercedes-Benz USA] that the engine failure is due to lack of maintenance and has declined coverage of any kind. We understand that this is an unfortunate situation and look forward to a resolution to this issue in the near future.
