Purchase of used Mercedes CLK 350 I purchased a used (2010) pre-owned certified car at the end of February. This is the first car I have purchased from a dealership since 1993. To be I purchased a used (2010) pre-owned certified car at the end of February. This is the first car I have purchased from a dealership since 1993. To be perfectly honest, I try to avoid the dealers as I have the belief you can get better deals from individuals. However, the treatment and experience I received at Brumos has shaken that belief to the core. Everyone was very professional and did not pressure me in the sale at all. The car sells itself, we just have to be satisfied that we have a good price and a good deal. We were introduced to the service department and the service writer and that also was impressive. Matt and Anna made the actual deal pleasant and as expeditious as possible. They even stayed after hours to complete it as we were from out of town and could not get down there until after 5:00. Even though I have not used the service department, I do intend to use it. The loaner service makes it easy to bring the car and do other business in Jax while it is being serviced. I did not give the price a "great" rating because if it was great for me then the dealership doesn't have a good deal. So I believe I received a good deal and the dealership and I both are happy. My overall experience went well at this service center. As all Mercedes dealerships it's not going to be a cheap visit. Any new vehicle purchases will probably come from here. The worst car dealership that I've dealt with. The salesman (Sean) bate and switched my son on his trade in, then gave him an unrealistic figure for a new car. I thought that since the car values wer salesman (Sean) bate and switched my son on his trade in, then gave him an unrealistic figure for a new car. I thought that since the car values were higher than most other cars in it's class that they would treat you better. Silly me, it was worst. Then I call to speak to the sales manager and he has no time to call me back. Now, I talked to someone at the Sanford, FL Mercedes and they were much more accommodating and friendly than Brumos. I highly recommend driving to Sanford, Fl than deal with this group! More
Jonathan Hill is Outstanding in his response to my concerns and arranging for a loaner car and all that goes with that service. Although it took 3 times to get the suspension issue fixed on my Mercedes Benz E550 I felt like Jonathan had my best interest in mind all of the time. In fact, when I decide to purcahse a replacement Mercedes I will visit your facilty FIRST !! More
Positive - They honored their advertised price even though it was two thousand dollars lower than the price correction. Jackie (sales person) was nice. They car was in very good shape. The buying pro though it was two thousand dollars lower than the price correction. Jackie (sales person) was nice. They car was in very good shape. The buying process was quick. The salesperson always answered my call prior to the sale. They held the car for me over the phone with my credit card number, but would not charge me, if I didn't buy the car when I looked at it. I bought a 2006 Toyota Sequioa with just under 30k miles in excellent condition for $16000, plus tax, tag, title. That's a good deal. The dealership is well organized and clean. Negative - Jackie failed to tell me about the $599 dealer fee when I asked what was added to the advertised price. She later said she forgot about the dealer fee and took $300 off the price of the car. She hurried me along to the finance manager before I had time to test drive or fully inspect the car. She told me four or five times that this is a Mercedes Dealership, we don't sell cars with problems. On the way home, I discovered the back window wouldn't roll down. When I got home, one of the center caps from a wheel had fallen off somewhere on the road and another one came off in my hand with 4 of the 6 retaining clips broken. These center caps are $100 ea. retail. I could never get Jackie to tell me if they would fix the window or replace the center caps, but she did make an appointment for me to come in for a service appointment but she would not say if it was going to cost me anything or not. I live two hours from the dealership. I went to the local Toyota dealer and they figured out that the battery had been disconnected, then reconnected but the computer that communicates with the power window had not been reinitialized. They fixed it for free. I ordered some center caps online after Jackie was unable to get anyone from the service department to listen to her. Those were her words, not mine. I bought the warrantee from my credit union not knowing what else to expect, but I won't be taking any cars to Brumos for service after this experience. Who inspects brakes then puts broken center caps back on the wheels? Who inspects a car without checking to see if the windows work? Obviously, a rhetorical question, but you get my point. My advice: Get as much information as you can about the car before you go to the dealership. They will want you to come in, but don't do it until you know everything you need to know or you will waste a lot of time. Have the car inspected thoroughly before you take it home regardless of whether the finance manager is busy with appointments or not. Get a good warrantee. Brumos has some nice used cars for a decent price, but upper management might not have a grip on the service department or they are overworked or something? It is a weird contrast because there were a lot of positive aspects to the dealership in my opinion. More
