From the beginning, this transaction was handled poorly. I strongly believe I was underpaid for my vehicle. After clearly explaining that both my wife and I were on the loan, Gary called me back approximately five minutes after we had already left the dealership, forcing us to turn around and return to sign additional paperwork that should have been addressed properly the first time. To make matters worse, we were provided with zero documentation detailing the transaction. No breakdown, no written confirmation, nothing. That is completely unacceptable. We were explicitly told that the payoff would be overnighted on Monday. When I followed up today (Wednesday), I was informed that it was just being sent out today and would go out tomorrow (Thursday). That is a direct contradiction of what we were promised. This delay now pushes everything back at least another week, including receiving the title and the remaining check owed to me. When I contacted the title department at Marshall Mize Ford, the situation was treated as if it were no big deal. I was told the paperwork could not be sent because someone couldn’t read handwriting. That explanation is unacceptable and reflects a complete lack of urgency or accountability. This entire experience reflects extremely poor customer service. Between feeling underpaid, receiving no documentation, being misinformed about payoff timelines, and encountering careless communication from the title department, this has reinforced exactly why so many people distrust the car industry. We live Marshall Mize! We have purchased our last 3 vehicles from them. This time we had Brad Doty as our salesman. He was great. We were looking at the Ford Explorers. He knew the inventory and showed us the vehicle that met my wants. Took it for a test drive for handling. We only went in to look, famous last words. We decided to buy the Explorer Tremor. The purchase process was not painful. Our was very efficient. Thank you Brad you were awesome! He knew that car inside and out and went through the vehicle with us before we left. Zach in finance was also amazing. He made that process easy as well. Lastly, We always get our cars services there as well. They do great work and are competitively priced. As a 25 year Ford Owner, trying to buy my sons first Ford.
