Absolute horrific experience here from start to finish. Purchased a vehicle here and was talked into buying a vehicle warranty. I agreed and he proceeded to draw up the contract and arrangements were made to pick up the vehicle and sign documents the following morning. When I arrived, it was clear that the detail shop did nothing to the interior prior to my arrival. The seats were dirty and I informed the salesman of this. He told me that the detail guys are bad there and that they no longer get paid by the hour, but the vehicle, which in turn makes them speed through the detail process with very little effort. Regardless, at the time I was willing to let that go. But, wow what kind of dealer doesn’t prep their vehicles prior to sale?? I proceeded into the salesman’s office and he sped me through the paperwork, signing document after document. As far as I knew, the price was what we discussed and the cost of the warranty that we discussed was $1,400 as agreed upon. It wasn't until I drove an hour and a half home that I decided to review all the documents and lo and behold, they decided to charge me $3,100 for the vehicle warranty. I called immediately and was told that wasn’t the case, that he would call me back to show me that they charged me $1,400. 10 minutes went by and I called him back. He then tells me that I’m correct, that I was charged $3,100 for the warranty and that they would honor the $1,400 warranty cost and draw up a new contract. He made baffling excuse after excuse for how this could have happened, and absolutely none of it made any sense other than this price swap was deliberate by someone at their facility. I informed them I will not be making the hour and a half drive back to the dealer to sign the new contract, so he agreed to drive it to my home the following day. The following morning, the salesman called to go over the new contract and informed me the price suddenly changed from $1,400 to now $1,900 for the warranty, another increase of $500 after their initial “mistake” was caught by me. I demanded to speak to the manager, who by this point should have already reached out to me to apologize and make this right. The manager I spoke with was completely incompetent and didn’t seem to care much that a mistake of this magnitude was made and not caught by anyone at their dealership. This makes me believe that this was not an accident at all, but completely intentional. They finally agreed to the $1,400 warranty cost and drove me the new contract a couple hours later to sign. When the salesman was here, he went on a rant informing me that ever since Maguire took ownership of this dealership, that this “warranty price switch” was a common occurrence, and actually encouraged by the sales manager. He basically admitted to me that this is an extremely shady operation and that the sales manager is well aware of this price switcharoo and that it happens often. I will be filing a formal complaint with the NY State Attorney General’s office, which I have never done before because I believe they are doing this to not just me, but many other totally unaware customers and fraudulently changing the price of their warranties. I cannot stress enough. DO NOT TRUST or DO NOT EVER BUY A VEHICLE FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. More
