The most enjoyable car buying experience I've EVER had. I am an occasional customer at a local diner owned by Joe B's family. A few years back I mentioned that I might need a new car in the next couple of I am an occasional customer at a local diner owned by Joe B's family. A few years back I mentioned that I might need a new car in the next couple of years, Joe & his dad said, come see us when you're ready, we'll take care of you and we won't pressure you....but I never took them up on it. Well, after having a horrible test drive and purchase inquiry experience at a different dealer I decided to take Joe up on his offer and see if Klaben would put their service promise where their mouth is.....they did not disappoint. Joe was absolutely the best sales rep I've ever worked with. I had already done a bit of research online as to the features I wanted and/or thought I needed in a Ford Escape so I already walked in with a pretty good idea of what I wanted. Joe asked me about my current needs and future plans and didn't try to convince me to get features or upgrades that I didn't need or really want. If anything he saved me money by recommending that I get the 1.6L engine instead of the 2.0...I wasn't really going to need the more expensive/powerful engine with my current driving habits and life goals. The test drive was an absolute joy...as it should be. Joe made sure I drove the exact model of car I was thinking of purchasing so I wouldn't be driving a model with one type of engine/features but buying something slightly different. Before I ever pulled the car out of its space, Joe walked me through EVERY button, lever, adjustment etc. starting from the driver's side door and working our way across the entire dashboard. I knew where everything was and what its function was before we ever left the lot. Good job Joe! Because of the orientation, I was completely relaxed and was able to really enjoy the test drive and determine if I wanted the car. I felt like I was just driving around and chatting with one of my friends, not a salesman. Once we got back to the dealership Joe began the search to find me a car with the specs I wanted. It was only after we talked about the vehicle, drove it, discussed it more, that we started talking price. He presented me with all my pricing and financing options and was very patient with me while I debated whether or not I should purchase or lease. One thing I hate about buying a car is when the salesperson almost immediately wants to know your occupation, how much of a down payment you have, if you have a trade in, and if you want to lease or finance BEFORE discussing the price of the vehicle. Joe is the kind of guy that sells cars the way they are supposed to be sold...get to know the customer's driving needs, answer their questions, talk about and show them the entire vehicle, drive it, search for one, talk about the price, THEN talk about how you want to pay for it. The ladies I worked with in the finance department were an absolute delight. They were upbeat, funny and just enjoyable people. Efficient too...I've never completed paperwork for a car so fast. Before I knew it, I hit the road in my new Escape and I couldn't be happier. Klaben Ford of Kent was an awesome place to buy a car. I've already recommended them to a family member and if I continue buying Fords, I will be buying them at Klaben. More

I found the car on Carfax and contacted the dealership. Tom always answered my question timely. Don did a great job of explaining a variety of functions of the car, the warranty, their services and so on. Also, Don is very nice. When I drove my car back home, I did not bring my GPS with me. I live about one hour driving distance from their store. Don is very kind to drive his car and navigate me to go back home. It was great working with Don Batten and Tom Nicodemus.
