Fraudulent Credit Application Filed on my Behalf This is a follow up to a previous review of my experiences on 6/25/15, my initial visit where I was fasley lead to beleive my credit information had This is a follow up to a previous review of my experiences on 6/25/15, my initial visit where I was fasley lead to beleive my credit information had not been obtained only to later find out it was. You can find it if you filter for negative reviews. After reaching out to the credit beaureau in relation to the previous incident, I was told that my credit was indeed pulled under misleading pretenses and was instructed to obtain a letter from Kia of Auburn admitting the mistake and requesting the inquiry to be removed. On Monday, October 26th, I re-visited Kia of Auburn and spoke to Luigi, who listened to my story and assured that he would speak to his head manager, Rob, about the situation promptly in the morning. The next day, I called Kia of Auburn to follow up and spoke to Rob. Rob told me that he had not yet spoken to Luigi, but promised to address my situation with Wallace and return my call in half an hour. After two hours of waiting for a return phone call, I figured he’d gotten busy and I went to Kia of Auburn in person, only to see him sitting in his empty office. Another salesperson, who’s name is either Mackerel or Mack, came to address the situation, and I never did get to speak to Rob again. I informed Mack, that I had never signed a credit application, nor did I give consent for my credit information to be obtained, and that Wallace had taken the information from my drivers license and verbal conversation and had put that information on the credit application and pulled my credit information without my consent. I told him to pull up the credit application to see it did not contain my handwriting nor a signature. Mackerel then tried to impress upon me that because Wallace had asked for my social security number and I gave it to him, I “implied verbal consent” that made an actual signature on a credit application unnecessary, which is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. When asked why other car companies required an application to have a signature and to be given in full consent, Mack responded with “Everything is digital now, we don’t require that step in our process”. Mack proceeded to try impress upon me that I should have known he was running my credit because of the types of questions he asked me about my income and where I work, despite the fact Wallace LITERALLY told me he was using my verbal estimate of a credit score and did not my actual credit report. That my original visit to Kia of Auburn in June, which lasted for one hour and ten minutes, was “too long of a visit for someone who wasn’t trying to buy a car” and was told I should not have accepted Wallaces offer to test drive a car if I did not have intentions on buying a car that day, and that my behavior signaled to Wallace consent to pull my credit. I then asked Mack if anyone in the building could produce a credit application with my signature on it as proof of consent. He told me they could not, and that Kia of Auburn would not write the letter to remove the inquiry from my credit. I am extremely disappointed to say although many members of my family have driven a Kia over the years, I will never in my life step foot into another Kia OR allow my car to be serviced there (despite the number 1 rating in car services amongst other Kia’s as Mack mentioned), due to the sneaky underhanded tactics of Wallace, the false promises and then avoidance of Rob, and the downright insult to my intelligence and character from Mack. This situation could have easily been solved had they simply issued a letter that would remove this fraudulent inquiry from my credit report. Seeing as to how they cannot prove my consent, I am pursuing legal action. More
