I purchased a 2017 Chevy Volt from Ken Garff Volvo on April 26, 2024. I specifically waited to buy a PHEV until I was sure that the up to $4,000 Clean Vehicle tax credit would apply. I assumed that the people working at the dealership were minimally competent to handle the process of buying a car and that they might have been actually doing something with the four hours of my life that they wasted screwing around with paperwork. I guess that this is what one gets for assuming. On Feb 17, 2025 I filed my taxes electronically, including Form 8936 which told me I was entitled to a $979 Clean Vehicle tax credit. My return was rejected half an hour later because the dealership failed to report the sale AT ALL to the IRS. After a MONTH of constantly having to call Ken Garff and the Volvo people on the east coast, the answer amounts to "Oops, our bad, sucks to be you." Apparently customer service is non-existent at this business, along with any form of ethics or accountability combined with an astounding display of incompetence. More
