I went in because my air conditioning stopped blowing cold air and I figured I needed freon recharge. Before even diagnosing my car, I was told that they would need my car for six hours to run a diagnost cold air and I figured I needed freon recharge. Before even diagnosing my car, I was told that they would need my car for six hours to run a diagnostic with dye to look for leaks. They already prefaced the fact that this could be a very expensive fix. The person helping me and I had spoke about how much I owed on my 2021 Honda and the fact that the car is worth more than I owe. I'll own that mistake because within two and a half hours I got a call back that everything that could go wrong with the car went wrong. They didn't even need the six hours to conclude that I owed $4,800 to replace the compressor, and replace the condenser plus add more freon. To compound all of this, they tacked on "immediate recommended repairs" for another $3,000, which brought my total to almost $8,000. And on top of this, it gets even better, I get advertisement for buying a new car at a discounted rate and telling me that they want my trade-in. I've been to this repair place many times and never once have I gotten advertisement to buy a new car at the time of repair, except for this time when they hit me with an $8,000 bill and then tell me about the great new deals on a new car with trade-in. That's not even the nail in the coffin. I went to another dealer who did the same thing and concluded after the same test they could find no leaks, my condenser or compressor was working because it was blowing air, just not cold air, and simply needed a recharge. I paid a few hundred dollars and the inside of my car is like an icicle. More
