Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand how important transparency is in the car-buying process and would like to offer some clarity regarding the situation. The F-150 you inquired about was part of Ford’s Courtesy Transportation Program (FCTP), which allows dealerships to use new vehicles as service loaners for a short period—typically a minimum of 30 days. These vehicles are still categorized as new under Ford Motor Company guidelines, and the mileage accrued during their time in the loaner fleet is reflected in the pricing. In return for participating in this program, Ford provides specific incentives, allowing us to price these vehicles more aggressively than standard new inventory. However, if an FCTP vehicle is sold before the 30-day requirement is met, the dealership is charged back for those incentives, which significantly impacts the advertised price. It appears there was a miscommunication in how this was presented, and for that, we sincerely apologize. There are several options available to customers regarding FCTP vehicles, including reserving the vehicle until the eligible sale date or purchasing at a non-incentivized price. These options should have been more clearly explained to you, and we take full responsibility for any confusion that caused. That said, at no point was any action taken that was non-compliant with Ford policies, state regulations, or Hillsboro Ford’s strong commitment to ethical and transparent business practices. We aim to create a positive and informed buying experience for every customer, and we’re disappointed to hear we fell short in your case.
