I trusted Group 1 Ford of Kennesaw with two of my family’s vehicles, expecting dealership-level expertise, accurate diagnoses, and quality workmanship. Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely family’s vehicles, expecting dealership-level expertise, accurate diagnoses, and quality workmanship. Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing. My 2013 Ford Edge was brought in for a brake issue because I wanted a second opinion after another repair facility was unable to resolve the problem. Group 1 Ford diagnosed the issue, and I paid for the recommended repairs. A few days after the vehicle was serviced, the brake warning light illuminated, causing immediate concern for my family’s safety. Thankfully, the brake issue now appears to have been resolved, but having a brake warning light appear after the vehicle had just been serviced was alarming and resulted in additional inconvenience, uncertainty, and another trip back to the dealership. At the same time, my Ford Explorer was being serviced for engine and air conditioning concerns. After I picked it up, the check engine light illuminated, and I was later informed that the Explorer now needs a catalytic converter. Since the vehicle was originally brought in for engine-related concerns, I asked why the catalytic converter issue was not identified during the initial diagnostic process. I understand that some problems may only become apparent with additional testing, but I have yet to receive a clear explanation. As I inspected the Explorer, I also discovered that the technician had left the engine cover on the back seat instead of reinstalling it. While that may seem like a simple oversight, it made me question the overall attention to detail that was given to my vehicle. What has been most frustrating is that both of my vehicles were returned to me in worse condition than when I dropped them off. Instead of leaving with confidence that my vehicles had been properly repaired, I left with new warning lights, additional repair recommendations, and concerns about the quality of the workmanship. To make matters worse, I emailed the Service Manager and the General Manager outlining these concerns in detail. Rather than receiving a response addressing the issues, I received what appeared to be a generic marketing email thanking me for my business. My actual concerns went unanswered. I understand that diagnosing vehicles can be challenging and that additional issues can sometimes be discovered during the repair process. My frustration is not simply that more repairs were needed—it’s the combination of inconsistent communication, workmanship oversights, unresolved questions, and the lack of accountability that has caused me to lose confidence in the service I received. I sincerely hope Group 1 Ford of Kennesaw uses this feedback to improve its communication, quality control, and customer service. Every customer deserves to leave a dealership feeling confident that their vehicle has been carefully inspected, properly repaired, and returned in better—not worse—condition than when it arrived. More
