To say my husband and I had a terrible experience at Gillman Subaru would be an understatement. We began our search online and found a Forester Wilderness edition listed for just over $37,000. We used t Gillman Subaru would be an understatement. We began our search online and found a Forester Wilderness edition listed for just over $37,000. We used the feature on their website that sends an email confirming the price. The email matched what was listed on the website. We made an appointment and we were told that our sales associate would be Angel. We arrived slightly early for our appointment and we were told that Angel would be a few minutes finishing things up with another customer. Angel came out and told us that he would be unable to help us because his previous appointment was running long and handed us over to Isaac. While test driving Isaac unceremoniously told us that despite what their website says, the email says, and the sticker on the car itself - there would be a $2000 markup just because. Once we made it back to the dealership after the test drive, we sat down to start talking numbers and we let him know that as a chase employee we had a VIP code that would offer special pricing. Isaac backed belligerent and stood up saying they don’t honor those, they don’t have to, they are a for profit company and are going to do what makes money. We asked to speak to the sales manager but he refused and we made the decision to leave because that service is not worth our business. On the drive home we called the dealership to speak with the sales manager and let them know about Isaac’s behavior. The first person we spoke with hung up on us. The second person said she would transfer us to the sales manager but then dumped us in a generic voicemail. When we called back a third time, a salesperson answered. We explained what was going on and that we wanted to speak to the sales manager for new car sales, Charlie. He apologized for the treatment and specifically stated that the VIP program could be honored if we would just come back. We made the mistake of believing him and going back to the dealership. When we sat down he informed us that he was sorry for the experience but they wouldn’t be honoring the VIP program after all but would knock off $1000 of the extra $2000 of just because fees. In short - Isaac’s yelling and horrible customer serviced was proved right. They do only care about money and they do that by gouging customers, using bait and switch tactics for pricing, and lying to customers. I would only recommend Gillman if you enjoy those three things.
