I must say I am more than a little surprized to read these other reviews. I have been into this dealership multiple times and have always had a very pleasant experience, with Sales and Service. I have a these other reviews. I have been into this dealership multiple times and have always had a very pleasant experience, with Sales and Service. I have also only heard positive things about them from friends who have taken their cars or bought cars there. We bought a new 2009 Jetta TDI Wagon. At the time we were on a waiting list (nationwide), and our Salesman was very professional and quickly gave us updates on when our car would be delivered. When our car arrived, we were treated with the same courteous and professional care that we had received every other time we came. We were completey pleased with the entire sales transaction - and that is saying a lot (we're really not into buying a car....who is???). But Gensinger made it easy. We have since brought our car in for all of its scheduled maintenance, and every time - whether I show up unannounced with kids in tow, or schedule an appointment - the Service dept is fast, friendly and professional. I had an issue with the taillight and needed it replaced and Brian was very helpful and went out of his way to make sure it got done right. Another time I pulled up to the Service garage with 2 crying kids, and needed help getting one of the rear seatbelts un-stuck (my son had twisted it and got it caught so it wouldn't retract). The guys in the service dept were very understanding and patient and took care of the problem immediately, and even helped me get everyone back in safely. I wouldn't normally go out of my way to write a review, but the people here have all been very friendly and provide the kind of service that is hard to come by these days. We would definitely only go here for any service needs, and any future VW purchases. More
Terrible dealership and those that work in the service department are the worst!! When I dared question their diagnostic fee of $110.00, especially when I told them what another mechanic said it was the department are the worst!! When I dared question their diagnostic fee of $110.00, especially when I told them what another mechanic said it was the ignition coil, Brian (service MANAGER) told me if I didn't like it, to go somewhere else!! How is he a manager?? Completely unprofessional, rude, and incompetent. When I asked to speak to the district manager, Brian said he could speak for him and he would not contact him. When I asked for his name, he said Rich and refused to give his last name. Then as we continued our discussion, he inadvertently revealed the district manager's last name as Barke or Barkey. duh. The year before, I brought my car in for a trunk repair after I was rear-ended. The trunk still does not close properly and I have to use extra force to close it. When I told Brian, he told me to just push harder. I should have learned my lesson, but trust me, I will NEVER go to this dealership again and be forewarned, do NOT go here. More
This is a terrible place! After paying $300.00 for a problem, they never actually fixed. Brought the car back and they wanted another $250 for the actual problem. Only to have the check engine light com problem, they never actually fixed. Brought the car back and they wanted another $250 for the actual problem. Only to have the check engine light come within 24hours of having the car back. Now they want another $250 to fix that. I will be taking the car elsewhere from now on. More
I went into this dealership looking for a new 2009 Passat or a low mileage demo. They had one demo (2009) on the lot for $25,995.00. I told the salesman that with the current incentives, I could buy that car or a low mileage demo. They had one demo (2009) on the lot for $25,995.00. I told the salesman that with the current incentives, I could buy that car at any dealer for $25,000.00 (cash)brand new. So why would I pay more for a used car. He came back to me at $19,700.00 which seemed appropriate for this car and mileage. I took a test drive and the car seemed fine. I told him that since this was for my wife I would like to bring her in to see and drive the car. We returned two days later, he had the car all cleaned up and ready for my wife to drive. She took it for a drive and after a check of the car we decided to buy the car for cash. While we were starting the paperwork Dave came back to the table and said they would not sell us the car at that price. Well we were shocked. We all have heard of "bait and switch" but they didn't even come back to us with what would be an acceptable price for that car. On principle we would not have bought the car from them. You have a rating curve of 1 to 5, I would like to add a new one on the negative side of that for their stupidity. If you didn't want to sell the car at that price, don't offer that price. I'm still scratching my head on this one!!!!! More

Normally, I would not particularly care but this experience this past Saturday particularly bothered me. Came in over this past weekend looking to buy a Passat 3.6L Lux Package 1 with NAV in Black experience this past Saturday particularly bothered me. Came in over this past weekend looking to buy a Passat 3.6L Lux Package 1 with NAV in Black exterior. First, no one particularly came to help us. Second, when I approached a gentleman and gave him an idea of what i was looking for, his response was, "good luck", in a rather deragatory manner. Despite his comment he looked at your inventory to find a 3.6L in Green and asked if that was ok. Needless to say, it wasn't even a close match. Final point, prior to coming in on Saturday, I had actually called around to see if some of the other dealers had this configuration and 2 others did. DCH and East Coast. The sales person specifically stated that they were probably lieing to get me over there because that is what he would do. Today, I'm driving in the exact configuration that I was looking for and happy that I did not do business with this dealership. More
